Sizing a Wall Pack

Below is an elevation of the west wall of a building I'm planning. The width of the building is 46 feet. It's about 24 feet to the peak of the roof. The tallest garage door is 14 feet.

A concrete pad of about 40 feet will extend in front of the building. This wall will be about 120 feet from a residential street. There will be some trees between the street and the concrete pad.

I possible, I would like to light this area with a single Wall Pack mounted about 20 feet off the ground in the center of the building.

I do not intend to use a "dusk to dawn" system. I intend this light to be on a switch and to be used on an "as needed" basis. Since this will be "light on demand" it should not need to "warm up". If I turn the light on, I want light.

If the light is on I want it to be enough light to be able to see decently - especially up close to the building.

Does such an animal exist and, if so, how do I spec it & size it?

I'm sure there are many other types of LED wall packs that will fit the bill as well.. I just don't know how to calculate the lumens required though..

I've used RAB brand LED wallpacks on several projects recently and they worked out pretty well. https://www.rabweb.com/productLines.php?majorGroup=LPACK If you click on a specific model, there's a little 'EZ Layout' feature on the right side of the screen; click on that and you can play around with mounting height to see what kind of coverage you get.

I think there's a variety of possibilities but - like you - I haven't been able to determine how much light is needed to do what I want.

This building being in a residential - albeit low density - neighborhood, I want enough light but I want to avoid bothering the neighbors.

I've looked at some of the manufacturer's Wall Pack light "plots" and I don't know how to interpret them.

Most places you have to shield lighting in residential areas. And this usually covers lighting in non residential areas that can shine into a residential area, as well as lighting in the residential area itself, that can disturb adjacent properties.

Now I have to figure out how many foot-candles is appropriate for this situation.
