I got the invite too, kind of wondering if I'll get enough socket choices (I'm pretty well equipped right now, but would fill out the Hansen trays if the right stuff comes up), so I'll give it a shot for a year and see how it goes.

The only question I have is they offer discounts, but is that off list prices? I assume you can do better even after the discount from other vendors...

Yes it is off their direct prices. Since I have a birthday in May I received a coupon code, it's 25% off but still less expensive to buy from a retail site.

$50 for 12 quality USA made sockets ain't a bad deal. not to mention Free shipping, and other exclusive promotions. I think I will join up, at least for 1 year and see how it goes.

Well it's only $50, signed up as well! There's bound to be a size I don't have in those lists lol

I joined. Don't know why, but it sounds fun to get a socket every month. 25% off promo code doesn't really sound worth it to use though. I am planning on ordering a couple thousand more dollars worth of SK stuff soon, but I doubt it will be directly through them.

I emailed them this:

"I have a question about your SK Club Pro benefits. Re: the free socket every month. Is that any socket of our choice 1/4" through 1/2"? Deep, standard, metric or SAE? 6 and/or 12 point?"

Their response was:

"SK Club Pro members get to choose a socket from a selection of 190 sockets. As an SK Club Pro member, you will receive an email from us with a link to the sockets you can choose from. I believe the email will be sent around the 5th of each month."

Maybe I got an early email?
Or upgrade to SK Club PRO for $49.99/year to receive:

...
SOCKET OF THE MONTH Choose your free socket every month
...
See below. If we got to choose what socket we got, then it'd be a good deal. I agree I'm not ponying up for some mystery socket

I read this and immediately thought some people would "complete" their socket rails with sizes they'll never use. lol

I'll join if they give you a t shirt or baseball hat with an old school SK logo on it.
The yellow one from the late 30's n 40's would be cool.

The idea of paying 50 dollars for unknown items kinda reminds me of that "hot deal" that happened a year or 2 ago where you spent 20 bucks and got a random assortment of tools. Everyone that did it, got a pile of junk.

Kinda feel like if its such a good deal, they'd show all the details and specifics of what choices you'd have, and what items. When details are vague, its usually not for good reasons from the buyer perspective.

Ordered my first 'free' socket today!

Once you log in go to your dashboard and then click on 'coupons'. The code for 25% off will be there along with a url to the socket of the month pages.

My birthday was this month so I had an additional 25% off code to use.. ordered the 4 pc stubby screwdriver set.

What kind of sockets were on the list? And that's no good like swivels, torx, etorx, semi deep? Or standard stuff

It was 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 shallow and deep, metric or standard.. Not sure how different it will be each month though

I signed up.
next night I signed in, it wouldn't recognize my password. I tried every combination possible. So I did the "forgot my password" and it took them about 15 minutes to send the link. Reset my password and went to log in - and - It locked me out for to many log in attempts!

Question to those who paid up for they pro. Do you always get the 25% discount deal? I want to pull the trigger on new socket sets, but the SK price is way higher than online dealers. The 25% deal would just about equal the best online deal. :headscrat

Yea the 25% off is a one time use for signing up. On the month of your birthday you'll get another 25%

This is Great for me right now as i need some common sockets. After the first year and 12 free sockets, i will have a hard time finding 12 more on this list that i need. I suggested to SK that a 5-10 dollar credit on any socket or tool would be a nice option.

This might not be too bad of a deal. I have complete sets of six point sockets--it looks like a person could get close to completing a decent twelve point set. I'd then wait until my birthday and use the 25 and 25% discounts. Those can be used together, correct?

Could anyone post the list of sockets that SK allows you to choose from? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it for me.

Only one discount/coupon per purchase. It wouldn't even let me use the first 25% discount on a socket set when I used the coupon to get my free socket. Had to do them separate.

So how do I get my first free socket? Will they email me a code or is the code someplace on the club website?

in my third month of SK club. Seems as though the variety of free socket choices has not changed much if at all. At this point I've decided to just create a 1/2" sae standard length 12 point set. First few picks were the 19/32" and 21/32".

Re: SK Club (There are TWO options)

After reviewing the SK Club Terms & Conditions it appears there are TWO options. Looks like those signing up are opting for SK Club Pro which costs $49.99 per year and provides a 25% off sign-up coupon, a free socket per month benefit, a 25% off coupon valid during the month of your birthday, some free shipping benefits and an SK Bucks benefit.

There also is an SK Club (not Pro) option which has no cost but provides a 25% off sign-up coupon and a 25% off coupon valid during the month of your birthday.

Update: 13 sockets later....

Went in as a day 1 member, the skinny:

Im On the Arduous road to becoming a certified ford tech and need access to reasonable tools, still havent used the joining 25% offer, seeing its on EVERYTHING (one order, not one item) TOOL CARTS/ MASTER KITS ARE NOT OFF LIMITS

FREFREEFREEFREE FREEFREE FREEFREEFREEFREE SHIPPING option and quiet little bonuses like birthday discounts, father’s day, xmas, black friday.

Just got a 10” bent handle flex head 3/8” for $36 for member discount AND 25% off birthday code. Still have that free socket code to use. Im thininkg 12pt deep meteoc 3/8 set now. I jumped on the Flexzone free socket last month. Win.

.... the member price slaughters Truck prices.... when my pos HF stuff starts breaking, i should have all the S&K equivalents ready to go... if I ever break them.

ONLY DOWNSIDE is S&K doesnt make air tools anymore. So this year im gonna build an s&k 3/4 impact with the help from PTR of ohio. It’s a hobby, not that i need it lmao

Is the Rotor/and impact system of the 92141 a clone of IR 2141, with different rear control? “ Project Godzilla” under way lmao

I’ve not regret the $25 membership yet(mindblown)

Its S-K or Sherman-Klove company, not S&K, if you care. They never made air tools. What they manufactured in house has always been the basics.

I do care to an extent, seeing it was never picked up by Any tool truck company, and the Damn tools hold up, and I can’t get enough of them. I was Searching like mad for more info on the s-k air tools, made inhouse or not. And didn’t want to throw up a thread unless I was at least building an air tool from the ground up. I also didnt want to make a thread that would become stale after 3 posts and be no closer to an answer, you know?

Found this thread and I’m happy to share my experience with the membership, minus the lack of air tools. I have snap on and mac and the finish and fit is good. Im probably gonna edit the **** outta this post cause my brain all over the place, sorry.
