Anyone get any new socket sets from Epstein's lately? Wondering on what the quality was like? Was chrome good?

Eppys.com has a huge selection of new full line SK, I went to their store in NJ today, very impressed with the inventory quality.

It doesn't matter where you get it from sk will probably have good chrome. I just got drive adapters from epsteins and the chrome was nice. SK is a quality tool.

Bought most of my new SK through Epstein, everything has been new stock and flawless.

Also got some new stock sets through other retailers, and every piece is perfect.

Outside of some legitimate complaints that folks have had (which SK is quick to handle), most of the issues seem to be with folks complaining about the paint inside sockets being mistaken for bad chroming. I've been replacing all my mix and match home tools with SK, as well as some stuff at work.

As others have said...next time I'm in Kansas City I will stop at Epstein...and be ready to load up on quality USA made tools. I haven't purchased from the website yet, but the prices are amazing. I'll probably just wait until the next time I am driving through Kansas City and know exactly what I am buying that way.

Have never heard any thing bad bout them. They do have a sale here almost every year.

You must be looking in the wrong places then. Every annual SK day thread has a few unhappy souls that have been unhappy with the interior finish of their sockets, chrome peel, or maybe a wavy wrench or two from stamping. My take is that if you buy tools to actually use, you'll have no problem with SK. However, if you buy tools to collect and polish, SK may not be the brand for you. SK isn't jewelry. They are tools meant to be used hard and put up wet and greasy. The grease hides the scratches and minor imperfections.

We have a terminal in KC, next time I'm in town, I'll put the truck in the shop, and grab a company car. Probably leave with a box of tools (and leave a box of money behind). LOL

They have always done well by me, either on the computer or the phone.

does sk warrentee wrenches from the 80's ?
From my contact with the current SK and what I've seen here, they are all over warrantying old stock with no problem.

Good way to get some of the OCD folks to buy a whole new set when that one RP wrench is replaced by a much nicer full polish wrench.:D
