Have been reading some posts about off center engagement on wrenches. I just bought a set of nos sk raised panels circa 1990s. How do you tell if they have that suregrip design? When did sk start that design?

No, that's not correct. Rounded shapes, even under cuts don't guarantee off corner engagement. Its more complicated than that. You could have a box wrench with sharp corners in it's profile, that, due to the angles and exact size, prevented contact in the corners. Look at this post.

The raised panel SK wrenches don't have suregrip off corner engagement. Superchrome with Suregrip was a marketing slogan for their non raised panel wrenches.

Why not just stick the head of a bolt into the wrench's boxed end and see where the points of the wrench contact the bolt. :dunno:
