SK vs Snap On Screwdrivers

when everything else fails my snap on screwdrivers always do the job without an issue, just wish i could afford a complete set.

OP, it's essentially Western Forge, vs Snap-On.

Based on my use, they both wear about the same, but the Snap-On Phillips don't seem to cam out as easy.

Screwdrivers ideally should have a narrow diameter, round handle section in the front of the handle. Not a fan of sk pro or cman pro for not having that feature.

Look at beta, facom, pb, wiha, witte etc they all share similar ergonomic bit upfront. even the old school hardhandles have it in many cases. seems like a step backwards to lose that.

I purchased the SK 6-piece set on SK Day, and sold 'em within a month. The ergonomics are a nightmare. My hands still cramp thinking about it.

Really like my Betas, ergos are similar to my hard handle Stanleys, which, for the price, are still amazing. Basically, tri-lobal anything is better than square. Close your hand into a fist, and try to make a square. Good luck.

For reference what size gloves do you wear? I've seen similar statements, and know guys who love the ergonomics of DeWalt 12V Max but for my hands they are too small.

I wear mediums, but it's not like it matters, the SK drivers have a different handle size for different head sizes, which I will never understand. Does my hand get bigger when I turn bigger screws?

Tri-lobals have tapered handles, so you can slide your hand up or down the handle to find a position that fits your hand the best.

I have older green French made SK/Facom hard handle with a chewed up #1 Phillips tip. I also have a bunch of the Craftsman Pros purchased last year from Sears and HJE. I prefer the hard handles and the smaller handles of the Facom,i was wondering if I could pull the Facom blade and install a replacement?
I figured someone here may have tried it already.

I've never done it, but I believe you can boil some water and let the handle expand a little, then slide the blade out. I'd email SK first and ask if they could exchange it for an exact replacement. They may still have some. Or you can buy brand new ones on eBay. A quick search found these, so I'm sure a #1 Phillips is out there as well. Craftsman stinky handles, yes - I thought it was just a bad batch.
What cleaner will make that go away, its like someone got sick in my toolbox.

You have to get rid of the outer layer of plastic. The plastic itself is the source of the smell not anything that's on it. Here comes the science.

If op is breaking that many screwdrivers, id question how and why. This sounds much more like misuse than poor quality. In that case id just get whichever cheapest truck screwdrivers i could, be nice to the driver, and hope he keeps warrantying my stupidity.

All sorts of things, always twisting of some sort, if I break them prying I don't claim them. Mainly the smaller ones. One more extreme example: I had a 1/4" screw I cut a slot in and used the my impact on the nut. (yes this is extreme I realize). Snap on broke almost instantly, SK took it no problem. I do have Wera (which I love) but the tips wear sort of fast IMO

That's because they are tempered harder to wear longer. Impact use is abuse and for that you should be using softer steel such as demolition drivers. The fact that the SK stood up to it is a negative in my opinion.
