Slatwall, pegboard or Monkey Bars?

I'm new to this forum and am wondering what you guys consider best for getting things off the floor (e.g. potting soil, fertilizer, lime, etc); hanging rakes, shovels, brooms, hoses; organizing tools, screws, hooks, drip line parts, chemicals, etc. I have a metal slatwall, ski table (a heavy cabinet with thick rubber on top surface, two drawers and two doors underneath) and metal shelving unit on wheels I bought when GI Joes went belly up but the hooks on slatwall aren't made for holding shovels and such - they constantly slip.

I like the bucket holder made by Monkey Bars - I could see putting fertilizer and such in these and creating more space on the floor. Yippy!

All ideas welcome and Most Appreciated.

Slatwall. I bought it at Menards, they have lots of stuff for hanging things. I suspect there are other sources of hanging things for slatwall online. On thing I have learned is that some of the hanging things don't have a flange that hooks into the lower groove; I don't like that. When I take the tool off that is hanging on the bracket, there is nothing to hold the bracket and it comes off the wall. So now I ONLY buy brackets and such with a flange that goes into the lower groove. So far so good.

For getting things off of a garage floor like the items you mention, I prefer a shed to keep them all in. Or if you can't have a shed, then I'd build a closet to store things with the closet only being 12"-18" deep and up off the floor high enough that water on the floor would not be a problem.

As far as storing things under a bench, my benches now are made with legs that go back at an angle to the wall. Anything under the bench is on wheels. If I want to wash the floor down, then all I have to do is wheel a few things out, then wash it.

I like it Jrussell86, this is what I too was thinking of and thanks **** for the tip on the flange. I do have a shed Kevin54 but still need more room and storage space. Thanks guys! Now to find a handy man to install it - wish me luck.

I knew it was only time before someone said move it outside to a shed. This was the first thing I was thinking. I just need to follow my own advice and build a shed.

The VA here has a work program wherein I got a custom built shed for less than I could buy a pre-made. It's awesome but alas I don't have a camera so can't make you drool.

Slatwall is one of the most versatile options. You can use hooks, shelves, bins, baskets, and more. If you want to hang it, there is an accessory that will hold it. Just make sure you get accessories that lock to the panel or you will spend half you time piking the hooks off the floor.

Beyond simple storage for the items in the garage, a few panels above a work bench can keep you projects in order and your work surfaces clear.
