Tired of my 1/4 sockets always flopping around on a long extensions, I found one by USAG PT# U02410301, that is adjustable tension that interests me, but I can only find it over seas so fair amount of shipping, $26.

What is your home brew solution? I've tried o-rings but none hold tight enough and I don't care for the electrical tape solution. Or if someone has a place to order the USAG I'll go that route

I've got a Williams M-140A.

It's buttery smooth and turns almost at a full 90.

Most brands will be riveted so loosening will be inevitable. I'm wondering if there are any brands out there that use Torx or Allen heads instead much like a flex ratchet

I much prefer a looser universal so I can adjust it with tape. Done it so long I have no issue with it.

I actually have a number of each drive, and have some clean, and some with varying degrees of stiffness ready to go lol.

Koken and Napa Carlyle both have a screw to tension. Hazet does too but they only make 3/8" universals.

I've got an old 1/2" drive that I put a piece of heater hose over, works pretty good. I've thought about, but haven't actually tried, using shrink tube to stiffen up u-joints.

Tape is messy

I slide an o-ring over mine when they flop too much. Granted the o ring will get cut and fall off eventually, but most of us have a collection of old o rings laying around anyway
