I guess it is about time I make my contribution here. Let me start off saying that thanks to this forum I was able to do things right the first time and get some great ideas for inspiration. I moved into this house back in July and have been wanting to get to the garage since we moved in. I finally got around to doing it after finishing out the wife's sun room.
The previous owner had laid the tile work in the garage and used it as a game room so when we first moved in I was not sure what to think about it but as I have given it some time it has been nice and held up to most of the work I do in the garage. I started off with painting the garage first and found this color scheme here from another user but can not remember where I found it or who ever did it first but all the credit goes to you if your paint looks the same. After the paint was done I ordered the Wall Control system form Shopstoragecabinets.com great service and quick delivery. I really like this system and like how well the hooks stay in and do not fall out when you take things off. My dad was so impressed with the system he ordered the same one the following week after helping me put it up. The next step was getting some more storage and a real work bench in the garage. I purchased the Saville work bench from Sams and am very pleased with how sturdy and easy to put together it was. I all purchased the Kolbalt jumbo storage locker and must say for the price this was one of the best storage cabinets I came across when putting it together every screw was in place and all I had to do was tighten the panel in place. My one complaint with it is that the doors have no real hinge and is just a spring pin that holds them on and acts like the hinge. I would not want to put any real weight on the doors even though they have peg holes. One of my favorite additions so far has been the shop vac mounted on the back wall. I wanted a small but high power vac and this one fits the bill perfect it is a 5 gal 5hp unit with a remote on off switch at the end of the hose and a hose long enough that I can reach all the way out to the drive way with it.
I hope this can help others with planning out their garage builds.
