I got one of those weird little cars they forgot to put a radiator in too!

Mine is a ‘90 with a hot rodded 3.8 and a fairly sorted suspension. I think it’s the best car I’ve ever owned.

I've got a '91 -- I think it's the best car I've ever owned too, and I've had a few. Perfect blend of new and old.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL cars, but back to the GARAGE............

I saw how you had the garage door tracks hug the front wall / ceiling line, but I didn't see any openers. What was your solution?

A local! I hope to catch one of these on on W Huron River Drive between Main street all the way up to Territorial. What a great cruise spot.

Nice garage. Incredible cars. That Arena red 993 is beautiful and one of the best Porsche's I've ever seen. Before this thread, I had no clue that was the name of the color, or that the specific body style is called a 993. Never been in a Porsche before, but I can appreciate beauty when I see it.

Got that right. It's such a great driving road and I am selfish for wanting it to myself. But yes, I always watch out for cyclists.

Awesome collection! Maybe I missed it, but what did you use for garage flooring?

A friend of mine had a BMW M5 V10 years ago that he installed aftermarket headers on - he eventually sold the car and kept the OEM headers in his storage unit which he forgot about. We were there a while ago looking for some other parts and I noticed the headers on the shelf - they were positioned in a way that I could see that the 'skull' shape would appear if they were bolted together at the ports.

I bought them from him & bolted them up - now I just need to buy some dark red marbles for eyes!

They're straight out of a Niels Hansen Jacobsen exhibition!

Apologies for the slow reply - this is one of the forums I come to every few weeks to check out and I don't have any alerts switched on. Thanks for all of the compliments!

Good to know that I'm not the only person that picks up parts for cars that they don't own... yet. My wife has figured out the pattern so she's always wandering around the garage asking "what car does this go on?" to see if I'm scheming some kind of crazy project.

That's funny... I'm actually about to start the process of creating a spreadsheet that puts a value on all of the car related stuff I own... I'm not married (well I am, just no paperwork or hardware) but my Girlfriend would have absolutely no idea regarding the value of anything if I were to meet an unforeseen end... I just can't stand the thought of her having to negotiate prices at a garage sale!

I don't know how I've missed this thread.
Awesome fleet, congrats! If I ever grow up, I want to have a collection like this

Thank you. Don't ever grow up... Just find a way to make it happen.

It's funny how the 964 transcended from ugly stepchild to its current standing. I remember a very nice 964 that would turn up at my then local c&c meet that took a while to sell for $25k... That same car would likely sell for $60+ today.

The 964 is a great car due to its balance between old and new aircooled platforms.

That's correct - the 2 outer doors have the Liftmaster 8500 'sidewinder' openers that are tucked in next to the wall. I left the middle door as manual operation as there wasn't sufficient room for a sidewinder and I didn't want to clutter the ceiling with a conventional opener. I did have power wired to the location if I ever change my mind.

Thanks very much... Yes - I'm always out driving in the Dexter / Hell / Pinckney area as I live minutes away (I'm on the chain of lakes). Happy to meet up this coming driving season.

Great stretch of road! Mind the cyclists and ever present Imperial Troopers.

Screw the cyclists! They're such a PITA.

It's called Mylec Dek Mat - https://mylec.com/dekmat/

I wanted something that was non-slip, porous and could easily be removed in large sections for periodic cleaning. The Dek Mat allows you to un-snap large sections and roll it up like carpet. Very strong too.

Really cool garage space. The 500e is neat, also. I remember seeing them in Miami Vice. They were always the cars that the more sophisticated drug traffickers drove. ;)

Didn't go through the entire thread. Probably been asked before but What brand of flooring is that?

Impressive collection, and nice changes to your garage!

Hey, we like the twisty roads too, and some of us are even car nuts as well. Believe me, we don't want to get hit by you any more than you want to deal with the involuntary manslaughter charge.

There you go marsh1, only three posts above yours.

Garage and collection are looking great. I never go on Rennlist anymore (rarely here either) but you may recall trading some seats with me a few years ago. Still have the Misanos in my 993, but wish I had kept the sport seats. Hope all is well with you!

Sweet garage and even better collection!

Do your recessed lights give you enough lighting to work on your cars?

Hey Bart - been a while! I'm not on RL as much as I used to either, though I don't think I've seen you post there in years.... Still got the hardbacks in the tt - have to admit that I'm still surprised you wanted to make that trade!

Thanks!

Regarding the recessed lights, not really... They were more intended to provide a 'showroom' feel rather than task lighting. This is good with me as I don't enjoy wrenching.

nice P-car collection. I have always been a fan of Porsche's but have never owned one, many a BMW's VW's and Audi's but never a Porsche. Would love one, but my health dictates I am stuck with an automatic trans now. :(
