sure i will put a lift, when you work 45 hours a week with it, you don't want to do "floor jack&candles" jobs!!!!!! (don'T know if the term candles works!?!? sorry i'm talking in french)

Very cool. I really like that there are people on this site from all over the world and different backgrounds.

That's going to be a tall shop have you thought about putting a mezzanine in some part of it for storage above and below.

Very nice!

I would build with wood here but the termites would eat the bottom before I finished building the top!!

I had some 1x2 inch wood stakes to mark out an area and they fell over cause the termites ate em.

yes, a mezzanine for some tools/tires/parts and "junk in case of..." and for snowmobile storage on summer

the heated floor pex piping is done, ans it holds the pressure, we put the concrete on that tomorrow, i will take more pics, 2 exterior walls are finished, top is done, next will be doors/windows install, install the remaining vynil on 2 others walls, install the white steel sheets inside (is the term is right for that) mezzanine, electricity (600v) ans we will look for a car lift to install

One question: why did you install horizontal wooden slats over the studs? You said you're going to use white sheet steel to line the inside. Couldn't you have simply screwed the steel to the studs directly?

i'm not 100% sure, sometimes my father say " do that " and i answer " ok " i think it'S for another air chamber between sheet metal and plastic to avoid condensation...

wheater getting cold here, interior is almost finished, exept for the mezzanine and the electricity, exterior is finished, need a couple loads of sand/rocks to get the land to the desired level

hope to get it done to fix my snowmobile before winter!!!

You've done things that zoning didn't permit in my area.

The 36 foot dimension will be great for just about any two cars, end to end on the SHORT side!! Very helpful in winter.

I'm anxious to see which way you go with equipment and such.

The 14 foot height will allow for many different storage ideas. You could even have a walkway around the upper inside perimeter for storage and easy access. Whatever your needs, that building's going to pretty much let you do it.

i asked a friend who works for a door installer a quote, and the price was affordable so i they installed it, i know i'm able to install something like that but i also know they work a lot faster...
they were supposed to instal it saturday but the team went friday evening to install it, to have vacation on saturday haha

havent finished the interior yet, needs some sheetmetal over the mezanine structure but have decided to buy some lighting/air pipings/tools & equipement to generate money to buy some sheetmetal to put over mezanine structure lol!!!

this is 100watts leds fixtures , there is a dead spot in the middle of the garage, need to put to more in center, when a car is lifted its pretty dark on the passenger side wheels well

to have a lift at home is NICE!

What is the distance from the lift posts to the front edge of the mezzanine?

there is about 10 feet from the nearest post of the lift to the mezz.. when i was on: working where to put the lift before concrete pouring, i took measurment of my father's ford E350 to know angle of instalation and distance from wall and ect! nothings is more frustrating than working stuck in a wall or with not enough space... so i made it to have more room than at my work!! (working at a 4 door garage with only 1 feet between each 4 lifts)

tire changer is a hoffman monty 1625 with low profiles arms on the side, paid 600$ (real cheap) but was in urgent need of maintenance every seals/pistons/o-rings was leaking, some plastic parts were missing/broke, air valve was clogged and it was stored for a year in a basement with high moisture... was full of rust and paint was peeling...
wheel balancer is a snap-on hand spin bought in full working condition

Do you have any pictures of how your back/smaller garage door ties in with your mezzanine?

it is ugly because when i build i was not 100% sur of the mezanine setup... if i have to build another similar i would put this stucture hidden in the wall
or start it from the center beam with an angle to the right of the door




anyway i plan to do the stairs on the right of the door with a small bridge to the mezz, this will hide this ugly arch haha
