Small Two Car Operation

I had one left over mid century typewriter stand, so I mounted my belt/disc sander on it. My 6 inch Porter Cable random orbit sander will reside under the table. My Craftsman shop vac will serve both the belt/disc sander as well as my table saw. I like the way the table for the belt/disc sander sets right to the table saw. With this set up including my new Craftsman sliding miter saw, these three tools will stay in my garage for winter wood working and home repairs. I also have a jointer with these. Everything else will be in the shed wood shop.
I don't "need" to be buying anymore woodworking tools, but knowing me that probably won't be the case. Anyway I used the mid century rolling table and I am glad to have found a use for it!!

Here are the three tools set up with the shop vac. I can power the table saw on one circuit, the miter saw on one circuit, and the vac and sander on another. All 20 amp. I never dim a light so I am good to go. I have still another 20 amp circuit for my portable compressor. I have a dedicated shop vac on the miter saw. I also have a wall mounted shop vac behind these power tools for general dust pick up.

At the flea today I found this zippered tool case. About half of the tools were missing. Not bad for a $10.00 cost. I cleaned it all up and filled it with the tools I wanted in it from my stock. I was able to use most of the items I got with it.
This is great to keep in the house and save running to the shop when I need a quick screwdriver or pliers. It will also be nice to carry in the car when I am out of town. A little clean up and Armor All and it looks like new!! The case is leather and in good condition.

Just dropping by, it is always great to see what you are up to.

As for not "needing" any more wood working tools, if you are anything like me I would almost put money it that there will be something come along into the future.

A tool kit in the house is a great idea, great score.

Always happy to have you stop by and thanks. I am going to take the next week and go off to the cabin on the Little Red River and do some trout fishing. I have decided (and wife concurs) that we need to get away more, and although we have already had two vacations this year, well why not another? This time we are going to get back into a little fishing and we have a perfect place to do it. I am looking forward to a little fall fishing!!

That looks beautiful... Nothing like getting away back to the woods alone with nature. I go camping up at Ginnie Springs. Even though with a group of friends its so nice to turn off the cell phone and get away for the hussle and bussle for 3 or 4 days. Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for dropping by. The Little Red River is a favorite spot for us. We always try and get the same cabin each year. The fishing is pretty good in the cold waters of the river. I hope to pull a few "keeper" trout out of that river.

While this will be a fishing trip for trout, it will also be a quasi-"fishing" trip for winter projects to keep my shop humming as the snow files. Lots of flea markets and antique shops where we are going!!

You got it!!! Especially a nap after a dinner of Pan fried trout cooked in a large iron skillet, Twice baked potatoes, Locally grown fresh snap peas with bacon and pecans, a large fresh fully loaded salad, and finished off with a Caramel Walnut cake topped with sour cream icing, and washed down with 1 or 2 (or 3 or 4) Ice Cold Killian's Irish Red (so cold it will crack the enamel on your teeth).
(Lacking getting the trout --not likely though--the wife's smoked and slow roasted beef brisket with Stubbs BBQ sauce will substitute).

Ten minutes after the above dinner, this old man is wasted on the couch for a while---zzzzzzzzzzzz!!

Hope the trout can find me, or vise versa. I spent the day Friday cleaning and oiling my reels, and insuring my tackle box is fully stocked. I am actually a pretty lazy fisherman. I expect the fish to come to me.

Some of the fish did find me. We got enough pan sized trout for a couple of really nice dinners. Even enough to invite some friends to the cabin.
Shopping turned up to be wife finding several items for crafts and home. I found a couple of old 1930's Radio Cabinets, that will be stripped out and redone for the house. Photos of those when I get them cleaned up!!

Thanks. Had a wonderful getaway. Warm days and nice evenings. I could have stayed another week but things here were calling me. I plan on ripping out all the radio and phonograph stuff and making the cabinets into furniture for the house. It will be a winter project.

Thanks! That one had some internal wiring problems, and needed a new switch, which I had a hard time finding. I know a power tool repair near me, so that place had one.
I can't bear to see these good items thrown away. The materials in them are just too high quality compared with the ones today.

Good to have you drop by. Yes I did and it worked for me very well. The buffer stand is so nice to have mobile, and everything I need is right on it.
I did a little "extra special" work on that saw, as it belonged to my dad. He used it extensively and I was able to be with him on a lot of projects where it was used. I am on the watch for, and as a last resort will build, a case for this saw. I have a shelf in the office part of my shop that is going to hold my "heirlooms" and antique tools. When I have "one foot in the grave, and the other on a banana peeling" I will pass all this mess I have created to my son in law.
So great to hear from you, and I am enjoying your own new/old tool finds!! That belt sander of yours is going to be a treasure!!

Thanks!! I had been planning on that saw redone for a while. The vacation was really nice, and I am now back to "work" here and miles behind the power curve. Gotta get a dose of the Football and Fall enjoyments!
I believe that SAM ADAMS has their Fall Oktober Fest Sampler beers out now and I gotta find that TODAY!! Miles behind, lots to do, but happy as a pig in the mud!!!!!

Great to have you stop by, and thanks so much for your kind comments. The buffer table being mobile is really handy. It is nice to be able to get all around the wheels, and have all accessories right there on the cart.
I did find the Sam Adams and also a couple of Killian's and NewCastle Pale Ales. These are all very good. Killian's Irish Red is my all time favorite. I like to say they taste just as good with Chocolate Cake as they do with Steak!!

Thanks so much for your kind words. I am still on the prowl for a few more specific tools, but I really need to take advantage of this fall weather and do some more work on my shed wood shop. I am still hot for one of those combination table saws and jointers on one stand. I find them now and then but most I find are too far gone. I want one from the 1940s-50s. I also want a floor model band saw from that era that would be good enough to restore.

I will drop by and see how your doing on your construction project. I bet those steel posts are just the thing!! I admire your work.

Thanks so much for your case offer. I need to find a metal case such as is pictured here in the 1964 Craftsman Catalog. Failing that, I would build a case from 1/2" plywood with a drop down front, that would display the saw.
Looks like you found a mirror saw to mine. It should polish up well.
Thanks so much again for your offer and I dearly appreciate it. I do think I already have a case like that "somewhere" in my stuff.
