Hey Hugo!!

Just in this weekend after a lot of playing hookey from home. We attended the USA Field Artillery Retiree Association in Fort Sill, OK for a week, and then we had a week with friends fishing the White River in NW Arkansas. We made another run to Clarksville, TN to visit relatives, and dropped down back south through Alabama for some sight seeing on the way home. We are road weary and ready to be in the nest for a while now.

Thanks for your thinking of me, and yes, I have been guilty of "not posting anything" for most of September and the first half of October. I am ready for some quiet time in the shop for a few days.

Thanks a lot my good friend. Since I have gotten into fly fishing it has become a big interest of mine. All of my life I did the spinner baits and lure casting. Now that I have "half way" learned the art of the fly rod, nothing else can satisfy like that does.

Great to have you stop by. I really enjoy your shop thread and projects.

Thanks for stopping in the thread. I did visit a few flea markets and antique shops but did not find anything that took me over. Do you think the flea market people are "monitering" Garage Journal and have saved back all the Wilton Vises and Craftsman Block Grinders? Not much of the good stuff seen on my latest travels around. Not giving up though!!

Thanks for waking me up! Actually, for the last month I have been working as a Veteran's Service Officer through our American Legion post. We have quite a few on going needs we are trying to meet, and assisting with contacting the VA, helping to file claims, and even providing transportation to and from health care appointments with a few veterans. This takes a lot of time, and this year the needs we are seeing are greater than I have seen them in the past.

I haven't forgotten my great friends on the Garage Journal though!! I will be back in my shop and posting up some things pretty soon!

I greatly appreciate your comments. There are many needs for Veterans and we need to have a strong American Legion post in each city to try and assist them where possible.

Thanks for stopping by. I am doing great, but very busy, almost too busy for a person in retirement. I have been helping as a Veteran's Service Officer for the last month and half, and to be honest, it has taken up most of my time.
I have dust on my workbench from it not being used!!! After the holidays, I hope to be caught up and spending most of my days back in the shop.

Herb you keep lamenting about being old.
I am past you and have a great time every day either in my shop or on my 10 acres.
Comes a day you don't feel like doing anything you don't.
Great thread you have going here keep it up. I did not start out with you at the beginning date hence this seemingly out of place post.
I am only up to page 20 but I will continue to read and thoroughly enjoy your saga.

I retired from the Air Force in 1981 with a little over 20 years so I know a little about military life.
