Herb, Funny how we visit the same threads all the time and yet I haven't taken the time to read through yours. I have decided to become more involved with others that have so much to share here on the GJ. I'm sorry that I'm just getting around to your thread. I've gotten through some of it and I love what you've done. Your garage décor is awesome. I love the Texaco sign and would give my left ... (not going to say it Bob) to have your coke machine. I hope you're okay with me jumping aboard with the rest of the great guys here.

I went through your own thread and it is great!! I will be a frequent visitor!

I have been remiss on my thread postings as so many other things have been competing for my time. I hope to get very "SHOPFUL" in the next month or so, and get back to my favorite pastime of restorations.

Something different. Granddaughter made me this guy in her senior college art class. They gathered junk and assembled projects. His head is the cap of a gas bottle and arms are BX cable. I will appoint him as my shop clerk.

go buy one of those cheap small blue tooth speakers for $6.99 at dollar general, stick it inside and sync him into your computer or phone and give him a voice. will scare the beegeebees out of your grand daughter.

side benefit, he can now play tunes!

Herb, Are you from Arkansas? I saw the picture of your vehicles in front of your shop with the snow. My wife is from Bentonville, Arkansas. I lived in Centerton, Arkansas. I retired from Ft. Carson and we have lived in Colorado Springs ever since.

Thanks Herb, I like what you have done to your shop. One day I will have an awsome shop like yours. I 8'x16' shed for a shop. I am into old Craftsman Bench Saws. I own 1 Delta for now. I would post a pick of it, but shed's don't count for a garage.

We here at the GJ will accept "anything" for a garage and we LOVE sheds. I have a full woodworking set up in an 8X16. We even will count a nice shade tree as a garage if you wish to show one!! My own shop is pretty small compared to many here. It works just fine for me, but I do wish for an old "big" barn from time to time. Feel free to post your place anytime you wish. Thanks for visiting me and I am glad to meet you!

Herb, I love the little guy. I know I would proudly display him in my shop. It's nice to see what a good imagination and some "old junk" can produce. I have little imagination, so those kind of things always amaze me.:thumbup:

Got a new Dewalt Gyro screwdriver. Just pull trigger and turn wrist left or right. Plenty of power to drive 3 inch screws through 2x2. Nice 8 V battery and charger. Takes a few minutes to get used to operation. Now it's my Go To screwdriver. Recommended. Works great for about any situation. Also get the accessory kit.

More Information:

There is another version of this, made for electricians. It has a flip handle and comes with a "deburing" tool for cleaning up conduit. It uses the same 8 volt battery. Most of the electric screwdrivers I have had in the past used 3 or 4 volt batteries and just had no power nor lasted long. Again, it is different due to the wrist operation. You just twist your wrist left to loosen and right to tighten. Once used to it, no problem!! Extra battery is $39.00, and the screwdriver I bought was $69.95 on Amazon.

I added some text to the post, about cost, etc. This is an actually very useful tool. I carry it in my tool box. I will be getting a spare battery as well.
