Ditto the above comments, that DeWalt tool is pretty interesting technology over past models of electric drivers. Thanks for sharing. I might have to add that to my wish list.

Agree!

I am leery of cordless tools, but lately Dewalt has not disappointed me at all. I also have a great Porter Cable cordless drill I really like.

Good to have you stop by!!

Glad you like the driver Herb. I personally am very partial to yellow. I've found their tools to be some of the best I own. And obviously I'm not alone on that matter.

Got a new Dewalt Gyro screwdriver. Just pull trigger and turn wrist left or right. Plenty of power to drive 3 inch screws through 2x2. Nice 8 V battery and charger. Takes a few minutes to get used to operation. Now it's my Go To screwdriver. Recommended. Works great for about any situation. Also get the accessory kit.

More Information:

There is another version of this, made for electricians. It has a flip handle and comes with a "deburing" tool for cleaning up conduit. It uses the same 8 volt battery. Most of the electric screwdrivers I have had in the past used 3 or 4 volt batteries and just had no power nor lasted long. Again, it is different due to the wrist operation. You just twist your wrist left to loosen and right to tighten. Once used to it, no problem!! Extra battery is $39.00, and the screwdriver I bought was $69.95 on Amazon.

Best Regards
Herb

This is a good screwdriver

Thanks for looking in!

I have gotten used to Dewalt's quality tools. Almost all of my last years purchases were that brand.

Herb, just checking in to say hello..

Regards

1/2 Cup

Thank you so much for visiting, I always appreciate hearing from you very much.

I will be "out of loop" for a couple of weeks as I am having cataract eye surgery during the balance of the month. The surgery is not a big deal but the "down time" for recovery takes a while.

I hope to be up and running in a short time!!

Thanks again and Best Regards
Herb

Best wishes on the eye surgery! Trudi had hers done 2 years ago and now has 20/15 vision (from 20/1100) and no problems! Felt normal in two days after; no more contacts or dry eyes.

Best of luck on the eye surgery, looking forward to seeing more update from you again. (Did you catch the pun? I'll have to try harder next time then I guess. LOL)

Thanks for your support and kind wishes. I did the pre-op today for the first eye and it seems like it will all go fine. I have a great doctor and hospital so all should be in top shape. I should not need glasses except for fine print after the surgery. It will be fantastic not having to wear them to drive!!
I am anxious to get in the shop and get to some projects I am thinking about.

Thanks again to my many good friends here on the Journal!!

Best Regards
Herb

Good luck Herb! You're gonna love the new look! I had both eyes done but being cross-eyed (double vision), the doctor thought letting the one eye go would be better. I suggested a 'reading' lens and he said "great idea." Now I can read the finest fine print on a medicine bottle with that eye. I also have real clear double vision!

Herb, I just realized something and am now quite worried for your safety. You live in Arkansas and I'm sure you've heard Jeff Foxworthy's skit about southern doctors. If he comes in the room pre-op and says "Howdy, wut we gonna do is cut yer lens out with my buck knife, whittle a smidgen off and duck tape it back on." Please promise me you will run for the hills. :spit:

All in good fun,
JB

Good luck with your eye surgery, Herb!

My great grandma had cataracts and was nearly blind. One day we went to visit her in the nursing home with my male cousin and my grandma. We were 14 and had kinda long hair (it was the late 70's). My great grandma said "would you girls like a cookie?" That really made us mad! Grandma said "mom they're boys!" We had a laugh and a cookie after that.

I was 35 when I had it done. Both eyes. No idea why it was an issue so young. But the difference was amazing. Took awhile to get used to colors again

@All

Thanks so much to all well wishers!! It means a LOT to me!!

@JB Matth

I told the doctor "JB sent me" I hope he won't wake me up during surgery and tell me to come back next week, he is going to have to "Order Parts" LOL.
I do think a lot of stuff can be fixed with a rasp, dut tape, and balin' war.

Best Regards
Herb

Update on the cataract surgery. One done, one to go. Next surgery will be Mar 2nd.

For anyone considering having the surgery the only answer is GO for it!! The difference on my right eye is amazing already.

Surgery no problem. It is just time consuming with the trips and eye drops. Well worth it!

Best Regards
Herb
