I always thought Rainfall improved River Fishing when Fly Fishing. At least in what I have experienced on our rivers (all of 1 that I have actually been on) it seems to be the case. I'm still fairly new to the whole Fly fishing endeavour. I do enjoy it. Havn't quite got to the point of tying my own gear yet... Which species do you target Primarily? (sorry I know this isnt really Garage Related)
Great looking place Herb. Enjoy fishing and come back with a good fish story for us.
Herb,
I regularly check in on your thread but have not commented in quite some time now. My apologies for that. Just want to say how great everything looks at your place. I know it doesn't get that way by itself. Your hard work and efforts have really paid off. I appreciate you posting pictures; it gives me more ideas of things I want to do here at our place.
Great work!
Great job on the spa Herb. My wife and kids have used our spa a fair bit. Now that Winter is here maybe not so much.
HS: i love that you actually USE YOUR HOT TUB and maintain it yourself too. I hope you get a chance to take a few pictures of your fishing trip cause some of us that aren't even fisherman would love to see the settings you'll see. as a bonus i hope you catch some fish that probably taste a whole lot better than what you can buy at the store. STAY SAFE cause a lot of rivers in our area are at flood stage and with all the rain you've gotten lately i bet yours are too so the water will be a bit higher and running faster than normal.
cheers and good luck!!!
. Herb, now that is a great result with the granite..
Regards
That desk looks great Herb.
And so does the spa - we have given thought to getting one, but have never "got serious" about it - maybe we should.
Enjoy your fishing trip Herb.
HS: very nice use of your FREE (or almost free now) pieces of granite. it looks awesome and especially with your laptop sitting on top queued up to GJ's main page.
cheers and best of luck with the fishing and hope you catch a few even if you do release them so they can live another day.
Herb,
That granite top is perfect for that size and style of desk. It was a good use of the piece of granite and it's still serving your garage interests as well I see with the computer ready to read GJ!!!.
Desk came out great. Looks like a nice comfy place to sit back with a adult beverage and check on all the shenanigans going on in everyone's shops and garages.
Well done on the desk Herb, you are correct on the joint, I tried to look for it and wasn't able to find it. Do you mind sharing a photo of the joint, you have my curiosity peaked.
JB

HS: i like your desk even more now that you mention it's history. over 100 years old and and it was in your dad's shop/garage as his miter stand or workbench. i bet your dad is smiling wherever he's at knowing how you saved it not to mention how nice your shop/garage and shed work areas look.
it's suppose to be 80's here in the PNW today with 0 MPH of wind and no bugs or humidity. pretty much a perfect day for me to ORGANIZE my garage/shed/storage.
cheers and hope you are catching fish or just having a great time out at the river.
Best of luck conquering the squirrel Herb! May the force be with you!!!
Joe
Good luck with that squirrel Herb. He's definitely not gone, gone. He's still scampering around your property somewhere but you've managed to modify his prior learned behavior. If you make a strong enough vent/barrier to the crawl space he will be kept out. If not then more permanent action may be required.
They can be real pests sometimes.
