Smart lock with door latch guard

tl;dr: I'm looking for suggestions on a smart lock (would really prefer keypad, but Bluetooth or other technologies may work) that will work with the latch guard I already have on the shop door.

At my last home, I had a Schlage keypad deadbolt on the shop door. Very convenient to open, and I never needed to carry a key. It also did Z-wave, which was cool, but I didn't end up using that feature as much as I'd thought I might.

New house, new shop. The new shop is a metal building with steel doors, which aren't cut for a deadbolt--just the main lock. They also have a latch guard installed:

I'm not really wanting to remove the guard, since that would leave two holes through the door and a third in the door jamb. So I need something that will fit in that space and not interfere with the guard.

Right now, the closest match looks like the Kwikset Kevo. The outside form factor is the same as a standard deadbolt, and the "touch to open" is convenient enough. It's a deadbolt rather than a latch, though. Any other suggestions?

Couldn't you just remove the door guard and trim around the new lock as necessary and then reinstall it?

Just put the deadbolt where ever you want (Right over the guard would be perfect)

There's not real set distance to have them installed unless you put a one piece entry door knob/lock combo.

regular bi-metal hole saw will make quick work of drilling the thin sheet metal of the door.

I was really more interested in something I could put in place without modifying the door or frame. In addition to putting the hole through the face of the door (which takes tools I don't have), I'd need to put a hole through the edge of the door (which takes more tools I don't have) and into the door frame (ditto). I'd then need to recess the strike plate into the door frame, and I'm not even sure where I'd start with that.

I have most of what I'd need to do this with a wood door and frame. With steel, not so much.

steel door are actually only a thin sheet metal with insulation inside. a regular holesaw(even the one for the wood door are pretty much always bi-metal) can cut through that.

to recess the striking plate. an angle grinder and/or dremel will do just fine.

In the actual hole of the door you can change the knob for an electronic deadbolt, but you loose the automatic latching of the door.

This is an excuse to buy more tools!
