G'day to all. Has anyone got any plans for making a smudge pot or a similar self contained waste oil burner?
I'm in western australia and as it's getting into winter, so i'm getting excited about heating up the open front shed i work in on weekends. They used to sell new "choofa's" as they call them over here but at $800 i'd rather make my own. Pics or info would great. cheers

It's kindof a smug pot and a waste oil heater combined. Not much in the way of forced air. it does require some electirc to run the combustion air and fuel feed pump. This one is quite old. According to my research they are still sold in Australia so you might be able to find an old on on the cheap.

Do a search for "Mother Earth News". I think thats the name. There are simple plans for a "drip" style waste oil burner built using an old water heater tank. I've seen and stood next to one and they make lots of heat. I'll look for the link.
