I was using this thing for breaks. I even used it to break books lose on calipers.

If i an not mistaken i can just replace the head it looks pretty simple. I am going to try and get it warrentied first though. I won't put up a fuss if he denied it i guess i was using it pretty hard as i do all my tools.

I'd see what snapon can do for you before you pay out of your own pocket to fix it. Sure you may have used it for something out of its limits, but you payed top dollar for these tools for a reason...

You're using the wrong tool there for breaks. This is the tool for breaks...

I agree completely. I have had this tool since it came out and I just continually got harder and harder on it foolishly, not intentionally I guess. I started out using it to just back the bolts out once they where loose. Then I started to use it to brake some bolts loose that didnt seem to need a whole lot of force. Then tonight in a rush to finish a last minute job I pushed its limits feeling confident it would take the abuse. My rep is a great guy and I spend a lot of money with him. I think hes going to replace it but at the same time I want to keep my re-pore with him good so if I have to spend $20 to order that part and fix it my self ill do that as well.

This was really just a matter of I just kept using it harder and harder thinking it could handle it because it was handling so much already. And I dont own the 3/8 version of this impact because I couldnt justify gettnig something with the same torque as what I already have. I own a 3/8 air ratchet but in all honesty I have one air hose in my bay and switching tools between it is a PITA and time consuming.

Anyway I am not beaching in this post its more for comedic value than anything else. I know I pushed this tool to hard and I was foolish.

Eh I use the Milwaukee 1/4 on mine too no worries. Is it wrong dunno seems to work for me. I broke the drive end on mine replacing spark plugs after many months pushing it harder than it should. They sent me a new one no questions asked obviously and I still use it for all the same tasks. Cordless much more convenient than air.
