Looks like somebody linked a box end on that.
Its been, what I call, "side loaded". Someone had the thing barely catching the edge of a fastener then tried to turn it. That's the resulting damage when the fastener is only caught in the very ends of the wrench. Likewise its a good way to mar nuts and bolts and round corners. Any brand will do that, has nothing to do with the steel.

Just an update....I decided to take it on the snap on truck yesterday and I told my dealer I don't know what happened but I wanted to see if he seen it before
He told me it probably wasn't on the fastener the whole way. He said "no big deal that's definetely a warranty issue" and handed me a new wrench like that.
I told him I never doubled up the wrench. He then proceeded to tell me that it doesn't matter if I doubled it up. Snap on doesn't say anywhere that you can't double up wrenches! Told me these are the best wrenches money can buy and to use them however I need to and if I have an issue come see him
That sure made me feel good. Also made me more willing to spend more money with him which is his main purpose

I had to double wrench two of my friend's snap on wrenches (per his direction) and they were fine, it was only a tension pulley, but after reading some of these comments, I'm not sure i'd do it again.
when someone "Double Wrenches"
I did that to a Craftsman raised panel this week.
Definitely doubling up.
That's lucky your dealer took care of you after someone else did that to your wrench.

It's an 8 mm. Not sure anyone has ever done that with an 8 mm.

You know whAts funny: I just realized that I bought my flank drive plus wrenches when they first came out. So long ago that there were no FDP below 10mm.
Looks like I need to update my 8mm & 9mm.
