Other Graphics Printers The scope's 72 and 75 DPI (dots per inch) settings are intended for use with other parallel printers. For example: • HP Laserjet and Deskjet printers accept the 75 DPI graphics format. • Some Epson printers accept the 72 DPI graphics format (05 hex). • Other printers may emulate HP 72 or Epson 75 modes. ✓ Some Epson printers use the 05 hex graphics mode. If your printer does not use 05 hex, it cannot be used with the scope. Refer to the printer's instruction manual to determine if it will accept 72 or 75 DPI format. If it does, you can use the printer with the scope. Setup 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 88-14 Follow the setup instructions included with the printer to select the graphics mode or emulation mode that allows the 72 or 75 DPI operation. Use the EAW0072C00A Parallel Printer Cable to connect the printer to the scope. Turn the tester on. To access the Communication Setup function: Press the Option Menu key, -- Press Scope Setup (F2), and Press Comm Port Setup (F4). A flashing cursor appears over the Port A option. Select the appropriate graphics format (72 or 75 DPI). Press ENTER to complete the Communication Setup. If the Communication Setup function is exited by pressing any key other than ENTER, the new setup is not saved.
