Looks like there has been a change in the design:
What is Snap On doing to accommodate the early adopters who have the freewheeling issue?
I see where the snap-ring goes, but where does the plate go?Looking at the OP video, the plate may interchange, the snap-ring groove would need to be cut into the ratchet. So unless snap-on cut all the heads with the groove, some ratchets may need replaced if this is the "fix".
I do not believe the snap-ring is the fix, it is to prevent loading/twisting force on the gear when used on longer handles, just like my dual 80s have. My dealer mentioned the snap ring prevents FOD, as loading the gears can cause excess pressure against the face plate eventually causing screw failure. Imagine putting a ratchet on a bolt, then lifting up on the handle. That force is trying to tilt the gear inside the ratchet and is loading the face plate. The lower plate however may interchange, or may interchange with new pawls/selector installed. We also don't know if these are actually to fix the inherent issue with the F100 mechanism, or if it's a running change for another issue or to head off something else.
At the end of the day the Franchisee who sold the ratchet is really the person in charge of the issue. I don't see F100 ratchets flying off the shelf's, in fact some were discounted at one point. This was far enough after the initial release I was inclined to believe it was to help move the inventory. A dealer could rebuild/swap the ratchet, credit/refund the buyer, swap to a dual 80, etc.
I see where the snap-ring goes, but where does the plate go?
Why'd they do that? To keep the pawls from popping up?Based on size it looks like it covers the pawls.
I’ll check mine. I have a healthy mix of first production runs and later made ones. I do know that I have had one issue with my long 100 tooth fixed handle. The anvil is super loose and it’s getting more sloppy as I use it. It’s also the only ratchet that hasn’t smoothed out over time. Going to see the Snappy man next week to see if he can rebuild it. Other than that, they have been solid performers.Anyone get one of these ratchets w/o the freewheeling issue? No one I know around here has one.
Thanks. From what I heard they're revising the rebuilt kit, but it is not out yet.I’ll check mine. I have a healthy mix of first production runs and later made ones. I got a rebuild kit for my early cynergy and it had a revised spring in it. This was a month ago. It cut backdrag a lot. I trimmed the spring a bit then in my later one and backdrag now is very close to a dual 80.Thanks. From what I heard they're revising the rebuilt kit, but it is not out yet.
Good to know. So far all my Cynergy ratchets have broken in smoothly. Not as nice as my Matco Eighty8s, but still very smooth.I got a rebuild kit for my early cynergy and it had a revised spring in it. This was a month ago. It cut backdrag a lot. My guy told me the issue is not only the back-drag, there are also numerous complaints about the freewheeling. That is supposed to be addressed with the next repair kit/revision of the tool. They are no longer showing the part # for the repair kit, which typically means a revision is in the works. My gut tells me they'll get it sorted out.I got a rebuild kit for my early cynergy and it had a revised spring in it. This was a month ago. It cut backdrag a lot. I see that, it's possible they haven't updated the site. My guy told me they have it in the system the dealers use as * which means they are coming out with a new replacement part.Just took a look at the repair kits are on snap on website

As it turns out they do list the repair kit "RKRF100" on the site. I used that part for two of my 100 tooth ratchets and it didn't work in either one of them. That is probably being revised and why the * shows [discontinued] when the franchise owners look it up.Just took a look at the repair kits are on snap on website
Did the dual 80 patent run out or something? Why change it up? Was this discussed already?
20 extra teeth to "keep up with the Joneses"
In reality, there's diminishing returns with anything more than 72-80ish teeth but marketing is a powerful thing.
Anyone on GJ who has purchased FHLLF100 and FKF100 I welcome feedback.I have the long flex Cynergy in May 2024 no issues. It is my go to unless I need to go 1/2 drive/air impact. May add FHLLF100 and FKF100.
I have one of the stubby flex heads on order from my driver. I already have the fixed head stubby. The backdrag is a bit heavy so I think it kinda defeats the purpose of a small palm ratchet. All of the FKF100 ratchets that were on the truck had incredibly floppy heads. I’m hoping mine isn’t as bad.Anyone on GJ who has purchased FHLLF100 and FKF100 I welcome feedback.
Shiiit I still used a 832 daily.20 extra teeth to "keep up with the Joneses"

They have an updated washer that fixes that problem. Had to install it in mine and it made it nice again.I have one of the stubby flex heads on order from my driver. Is there a part number for the washer? My driver is a cool dude but the one thing he doesn’t seem to like doing is fixing floppy heads. He thinks floppy is acceptable and won’t fix it until the head cannot stay up.They have an updated washer that fixes that problem. Had to install it in mine and it made it nice again.
Stuff like this is so off-putting. Lifetime warranty — IF your driver feels like it.Is there a part number for the washer? My driver is a cool dude but the one thing he doesn’t seem to like doing is fixing floppy heads. He thinks floppy is acceptable and won’t fix it until the head cannot stay up.
I agree the driver should be all over it, mine is top notch and took care of it. This is a little different, shimwasher probably won't work as it's actually like a lock washer but from a hard round wire. I believe it fits into a recessed groove a bit. I know the new one made my ratchet about perfect.Stuff like this is so off-putting. Lifetime warranty — IF your driver feels like it.
Anyways, Ive had good luck with shim washers in the past.
