Snap-on Drawer Liners - Who Makes Them?

We've dealt directly with a rubber manufacturer in California for about 25 or more years. I'll e-mail the photo to them and ask.

I wonder if S-O will send me a 2" x 2" swatch so I can have the rubber guys research it.

I have about 400-500 sq. ft of USA-made rubber flooring by the way. To sell, dirt cheap. Might work for lining a room. Incl. the walls.

Still think that "commercial neoprene" sold at your local Hydraulic shop in various thicknesses does the best; the drawer liner stuff is just too flimsy and thin and catches too much dirt.

I use 1/8" thickness in my sockets and ratchets drawer, and 3/32" or 1/16" on my wrenches etc. drawers...

I wonder if it is a neoprene material? I haven't examined it too closely. We used to buy a lot of American-made neoprene. That stuff became harder to get and more expensive. We switched to Mexico and the stuff was horrible. I hear Japan has really good quality neoprene for wetsuits and lining materials.

Hmm my KRA2411 is only 2 years old , it looks like the stuff in the pics but I don't know for sure that it is now.

Having just bought both a KRA and KRL series box, I can tell you that the drawer liners are completely different. The KRA stuff is thicker, more foamy and less tacky. The KRL stuff is really really nice. It's super sticky, thin and pliable.

Exactly! I would love to know since I dropped $150 for a new set of drawer liners for my KRL. That is how much I like them!

I know, some of you thing I'm crazy but the last guy didn't take care of them and I will.

Once I receive sample, I'll do my best to see if my limited contacts can find anything out. In the meantime, maybe someone can hit up this Jonco outfit?

My conclusions are as follows:

1) S.O. has a proprietary contract with VANTAGE Ind and JONCOto supply
the KRL black non slip drawer liner

2) VANTAGE mfg's, imports or otherwise provides the S.O. KRL drawer liner

3) JONCO is a processor that amongst many operations cuts the VANTAGE Drawer Liner to size for S.O.

4) Neither VANTAGE nor JONCO will sell anybody other than S.O. this drawer liner

5) JONCO did send me a sample of another non slip drawer liner that appears quite good.
They also quoted a price of $1.00 per sq foot, which I'm thinking is high ??

6) VANTAGE Ind shows misc (non S.O.) drawer liner on thier web site. I had previously been steered to JONCO by a "Scott" . I am in the process of asking Scott (at VANTAGE) again if in fact I can buy a "roll" of his best drawer liner (NOT the S.O. product) and at what cost.

7) If product and price seems good to a few of us, one of us will have to receive large roll and cut/ship to others. I'll front the money if neccessary.

this is the best liner you can buy! it is impossible to make a comparrison to any other liner available outside of snap-on. i have a really good relationship with my dealer and i cant get any info out of him. he keeps this stuff on top of his shelves and boxes on his truck and drives around all day with tools laying out and he saus they never move. as of now he is getting me a roll so i can line my MAC box with it.

byrd, We'd all be interested in S.O. part # and Price $$$$ for "roll" (what dimensions) of their drawer liner.

Many hear are looking for lower cost Very Good Alternative. The JONCO sample material appears Very Good, but not sure how $1.00 sq foot compares with brand XYZ ????

I spoke again with Scott at VANTAGE Ind. VANTAGE appears to be the biggest U.S. player in the production and importing of drawer liner materials.

Once again they import/have mfg a propriatary product for Snap On, that inturn JONCO cuts to size for S.O. Neither company (JONCO or VANTAGE) will sell this
product.......to you, I or anybody else..........

As mentioned above JONCO did send me a sample of a"good" non slip alternative
product. I was told it came in either 24" or 48" width. The price quoted was $1.00 sq ft.
I think this is high (close to retail??) but really dont know.

Asking your opinons as to what width YOU need for your drawers and if you'd pay $1.oo sq yd plus some shipping ???

I can Email Mike Ryan again with JONCO and see if any alternative width's are available at what cost. KRL drawers for example at 28+" deep ........My VIDMAR drawers need liner 26" wide.

I use carpet runner from Home Depot for $1.97/ft, the carpety stuff, not the rubber style. Seems ok. I'm thinkiing of locating a roll of thin magnetic stuff and see if that would be better. Something what fridge magnets are made from, but larger.

This is $0.50 per square foot as I'm reading it, or 0.20 per foot if you buy a roll. This is the same company as the "pick & pluck" foam that someone mentioned the other day. I haven't seen it or tried it.

I need to line a big Matco box. If you guys get something good going, I'm in. Maybe will do my KRL also. I have hardware store vinyl in it and it's too slippery. Rick

I don't think $1 is bad at all if the quality is there.

The Lowes stuff, which I've tried, is expensive for what you get, I think. Not nearly as good as the KRL.

My source crapped out as well.

Did the ANSI no. refer to the KRL liner or something else?

I'll ask my driver what his cost for the liner is from Jonco. I bet it's pretty high.

Another tidbit: Jonco bills to SO Corporate and ships to the dealer. That got me thinking if even dealers were buying direct from Jonco or if they had to buy from SO who in turn got their cut. Smart bastards.

A snap on dealer gave me a couple sets of drawer liner. I havent even opened them b/c they are the wrong size for my box. I will have to dig them up and see what you clowns are talking about...

I ended up getting 5 or 6 rolls from the Jonco ebay store. Good price and good quality. Not KRL grade of course, but the best stuff I've found other than that, so far.

edit: I miss Merkava's posts by the way. As with many of us, there were a few nutty ones, but he posted some good info as well. And posters like that are what really make up the true value of a message board forum, to my mind. The collective contributions of all of us.
