I've used 3/4 - 1 inch guns that are weaker on paper, but will remove things my 2235 will not. Like you said they use much bigger components and more air - we ran a dedicated compressor with 1 inch feed like to 3/4 air line.
They hit different than the smaller hammers in the 1/2 class. 1/2 is more of a rattle gun versus the big guns hard steady hits. Just my opinion.
And I'm not worried about 1600, like you said it'll be an approvement over the 725 either way.
looks like there is already a 1600+ breakaway impact out there.
I been holding out for a snap on impact. (a new model) but settled for the mt2769. can't wait any longer

the sales flyer?
The same purpose that "650 horsepower, rated at the sales brochure" is for. What would 1,600ft/lbs be for?
I looked yesterday. Snap-On does not show the PT-850 on their web site, although the vinyl boot and some repair parts are available.Apparently no more waiting is needed
Its called PT850 so I suspect 850 will be its max torque. That's generally how their most recent naming scheme works anyway. In fairness to anyone thinking it should be more powerful it looks to be half an inch shorter and 6 ounces lighter than the 2235. Its still a giant move in the right direction considering the number 1 complaint with SO impacts by far is their ergonomics and weight distribution.
I love my mg325 so I'm disappointed in this gun.
