Snap On KRA650/660 Questions

Hi All,
I have been researching and planning to do an upgrade on my work toolbox.
I have a thread on GJ discussing my latest "plan"

Now this box came up on the classifieds here along with a CL post from a nearby area. When I contacted the seller/did further research and found the CL post I discovered the asking price was $1950....too rich for my blood....now the CL search turns up and the price is lowered to $1450....which is alot more than my proposed budget at HF.
I am not going to even try to compare the two,I realize they are in different quality zones for comparison. I know the Snap On is a better box.My question is is there a market for the top box? My ideal plan is to have a large,flat work surface with storage below.
Is it reasonable to assume I could sell the top box and get closer to the budget of $800?

The top boxes are very nice. At $1450, that is high in my book. I'd say $300 for the top and $500- $700 for the bottom.

If that top box is in nice shape, I don't think you'll have a problem selling it for $500.

As for the combo, I wouldn't go over $1200 for that purchasing.

Based on what I have seen I'd say ~$1K - $1250 is a bit more realistic and fair for the pair. They do look to be in pretty good condition. If they need absolutely nothing and are in immaculate condition, then maybe the asking price is OK.

As for selling the top, IDK I've seen them all over the board. I think it may be a bit challenging to sell, based on the target audience. It is a pretty large and expensive top box for your average home guy. Top boxes don't seem to be very popular among pro's these days, thus your pool of potential purchasers is shrinking. If you bought the package I'd put a sell value of $400 on the top. Could you get more maybe. But atleast that will give you a bit of room for error calculation wise. Say at full price, $1500 - $400 = $1100 for bottom, which seems a bit high for that bottom box. If you really like the setup and can live with the $, I guess, but if you just want a box and are in no rush, I'd probably keep looking. Just my 2¢.
