You literally have the cleanest setup on a krsc46 I can find on the net! Don't be surprised when I post my pics copying your every move. I was wondering if your bottom drawer was going to be changed into a 12" to match?

Thank you .I thought about it. I could swap one from a krsc40 in there, but i dont have any tools that need that much room. I was trying to find an 8 inch for my side cab but no luck yet.

Yes.
You will need (2) of part number 4107FJL82PJJ (for extreme green)
And (1) of part number 8-05288ALRS slides since you will already have a set in the 8 " drawer
Hell , you could put 14 two inch drawers in there if you wanted too.

I added a custom big rig mudguard as a top protector, and I added a nice decal :)

I just checked out how much to add two 4" instead of the 8" and it will be expensive and I will be stuck with a useless 8" haha.

If I do go down that road and replace the 8 with two 4's will any drilling be required or are all the holes for the slides already there?

Also Trbobuick, how does the JKRR40W55 adhere to the top of the cart?

If you pull out one of the drawers and look inside , there are 14 different places where the slides snap into place. When the box first came out they bragged about drawer versatility and even listed the 2 inch and 12 inch drawer part numbers.

The mat comes with a sticky material that is already applied with wax paper that you peel off. It wasnt sticky enough so i used some of the raised 3m puffy 2 sided tape. Works great.

I really like the idea of taking out the top 4" and putting in 2 2" basically just for the screw drivers and files and stuff. I think it will add a ton of new storage space. I think I would rather do that then add 2 4" to the bottom.

No.
And they didnt come with the lock and roll plastic inserts.

So do you remember what the total bill was for the 2 drawers and everything needed to make it just like the drawer you replaced?

Nothing. Snap on gave me the 2 drawers , a set of slides , 2 lock and roll inserts , and the top mat for free because they didnt paint my box right. It would be around 450 or so to buy all the stuff needed. Snap on really needs a custom box program . They could make a ton of cash if the offered it.

So how much did the slides cost? I hope your SO guy gave you the locking tabs!
They cost 25 bucks. What locking tabs are you talking about ? On a heritage box , the slides slide into locking holes in the drawers and square receivers in the box. The slides are threaded on the ends for a screw to lock them to the drawer.

Man I'd love to have a KRSC46. Whenever I need something that big at work I'm snatching one up. And copying the 2 smaller drawers idea.

It is an awesome box, and now that I have finally seen the top drawer swap out for 2 2" it makes so much sense and so much more room.

I was referring to the plastic drawer locks that won't allow them to open when your rolling the cart around.

did you find that the rubber top was a very tight fit on the lid? I got one yesterday and it seems that you have to have somebody hold down one side while you pull the other end on and hopefully stick it all down.

I actually found that the top didn't fit as snuggly as I wanted it too. There was still a little bit of a gap on each side so I had to center it.

I enjoy this post, I am hoping to get one of these soon.
Thank you. It is one of the best bang for the buck deals out there.

I needed some music to make the day go a little faster.
8750c270eb05907.jpg

Bought some cheap MP3 USB speakers and an Energizer twin USB 120 volt plug.
I also bought a cheap hanging hook designed to screw into drywall. The box already had two threaded mounting holes in the lid.
I ran a charging cord up from the usb adapter , so i can charge my phone while i stream pandora radio.I used aircraft wax string to tie all the wires together. Ill have to use someone elses phone to take a pic of my Galaxy Nexus mounted in place.

Awesome mods on the roll cart, I have the same one that came with the bulk storage area and plastic liner in the bottom. My snap on man gave me a bottom drawer he had that was dented. I had it painted black and bought slides for it, much better than the bulk storage. Now I am trying to decide if I am keeping it I bought a 4107 off CL for $400 it has a dent in one drawer but is in great shape besides that. It is shorter than my big roll cart but has more drawers and all my tools fit in it with room left where I was stacking stuff on top of other stuff in the cart. I also thought about changing some drawers out of the 4107 and customizing the roll cart since the drawers are the same. I have them both and can't decide what to do.

I did get one in december and it is full. Does snap on have a full width tray that would rest on top of the drawers? I did some looking and found them for other boxes. Or is there another place to get something like that?

At first, I upgraded just a couple of my heavier drawers with double slides, but I liked how sturdy they felt, so I converted all of my drawers to double slides.

Piper PA-34 Seneca II. Plane had a bad engine fire , so we had to install a new RH wing . Good times.

Very nice toolbox! As a side note, I have over a couple thousand hours in seneca II's and will be flying one tonight. (I'll also be flying a PA31-350 Cheiftain) I fly bank cargo and medical specimens for a small cargo company. I"m not a pro mechanic but do a lot of tinkering at home and have mostly SK and craftsman. I did however get my first Snap-on ratchet today. This is not good. :lol_hitti
