Haha yea I'm right there with you, but honestly I think the extension cords some people use are even scarier. Needless to say, I have no intentions of using this inside my house or shop if I'm not in the same area.
After I found some fire spliced wires in my house(almost every long run was 6-12' pieces electrical tapes together)when I renovated upon buying, I put in arc fault breakers and ripped out a lot of the wiring. Wiring I replaced is now all 20amp circuits and overkill on the gauge because it was what was left over from another project. House was built in 82 and that was the original wiring. I bought the place probably 3 years ago. I can't believe the workmanship of some of these low cost chain builders. My first floor back wall is 4" out of plumb and to correct it they made the second floor back wall come in 4". Vinyl hid it completely. The kitchen is on the back wall. What fun shimming the studs was so I could put new cabinets in. Old ones were built in place and scribed to the angle.
