It's already approaching the end of the year. Will Snap on raise their price in 2009?

I am considering to buy some new stuff from Snap on and is wondering if the shopping season is the best time to make the investment.

Whatever they'll charge, it's well worth it! ;)

I just stopped by AutoZone tonight and they've got Valvoline 10W-40 priced at $3.99 a quart + tax. That's expensive!!! :eek2:

It seems the price of everything but housing is rising to keep up with the inflation.

Obama and McCain have very different approach in Growing the Economy

Obviously, middle class is the economy engine. To get the economy better, we have to start from there.

Republicans try to cut taxes for the wealthiest individuals and largest corporations and they will do what is best for the economy as a whole - the top-down, or trickle-down approach.

Democrats try to invest in bottom-up productivity-based growth by building the private sector on a solid foundation that includes providing every American with world-class education and infrastructure, affordable healthcare, markets that work dependably, incentives for investments in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Frankly I think we've tried #1 for long enough, and exhausted whatever potential it had to grow the economy. It's pretty cool to see some people want to try the failed policy for another 4 years.

When prices go up, it is a specific % across the board on everything? Or, is it only on some things?

I would not expect catalog or list prices to drop, but the negotiated price you actually pay at the truck might move around both up and down depending on how things are going.

This may sound stupid question but do prices ever go down; once they go up?

Yes they can. I remember right after I got my OEXM710B metric wrench set the price was up to about $320. That was around 2003-04. Right now it is $272.50 on their website, although that is up from my 2007 pricelist which has them at $270 even.

Edit: Now that I think about it, it might have been only around $300, but either way the current price is less than the list price was around that time.

A couple other examples from my receipts in 2006, SOEXM21 was $48.95, SOEXM22 was $52.50. Current prices are $46.50 and $49.75 respectively so that is down from only two years ago. Not a huge difference but just another example that they can reduce the prices.

One thing to remember some times trucks pull prices out of the air. If you are not carefull you may pay more then MSRP.

Does anyone really think anyone elected is going to give the working stiff any breaks? Seems like now we are trained to think gas at less than $3.00/gal is a bargain-Wake up-were are not even getting Kissed at the pumps.

I have the wrench you are looking for--pfsxm915 in very pristine condition. I must have bought it for one special use, but am too old to remember what it was-am many years retired and am selling all my snap-on tools from many years of grease work. If I dont have it-they didnt make it.

I always check the website before I buy stuff off the truck. That way I know what I am getting myself into when I do I buy something and also to protect myself from an unscrupulous dealer as you suggest.
