Im planning on trading in my classic 78 box for a krl 722. I want red because everyone knows thats snap on. But how much of a difference is there between original red and candy apple red? Just want to get peoples opinion.

The candy apple red appears more glossy and more like cherry pie filling if that makes sense. The traditional Snap-On red is a little more matte finished and red like a fire engine.

That said, I prefer Traditional Snap-On red. It looked good in 1960 and it still looks good today.

Every body loves the kandy. With that said, I wouldn't call their offering a true candy apple red, not nearly metallic enough for my liking.

I have a classic 78 in candy red with black trim and work top. The candy red is a bit deeper than the normal red.
