Exactly.
Regardless, I’m done. Do your best and thanks.

I own multiple forums. Have for 30 yeas. If you don’t understand something and want to better the joint, just politely ask for clarification.
Phillips #2@bmwpower
What type/size is that?
Yep, I’m still alive. Been way too long. As the story usually goes, been through hell and back. Good to see you and others still wrenching.Hell… I’m just glad to see you still kicking, it’s been awhile since I’ve seen a post from you. In regards to your screwdriver, If he damaged it while pulling and/or reinstalling the new blade he should have swapped it out. Unfortunately it probably won’t match your set, unless he just happens to have some of the older Handles laying around.
Hope all is well with you BMW.
Not the best shot but lemme know if it’s legible. Haven’t started looking for a replacement, but if you have access to one, I’ll gladly pay you for it.What is the model number on the handle? I'll see if I have access to another mint example.
Would be good to understand how the dealer goes about this job, if anything, just to learn how he does it.So who wants to talk about screwdrivers…
Let’s say the dealer put the blade in a little different and split the grip… how did he do the other abrasive damage to the grip?
It is like he damaged it twice…
I once had one where the blade of the screwdriver did not go in as much as a factory one. I used my vise to push it in the rest of the way. It did not split the grip or abrade the handle. The Snap-on guys have a tool to remove and replace the blades.
It looks like an everything went wrong situation.
That is an SGDP42IRA. First revision of the Grip series handle in red.Not the best shot but lemme know if it’s legible. Haven’t started looking for a replacement, but if you have access to one, I’ll gladly pay you for it.
Welcome to the Internet, sir.Is it wrong to ask for thread titles that are clear, explanatory, and succinct?
Does it not improve the forum and make it easier for others to search for the answer when they encounter a similar problem, perhaps in the future?
Too much time on their hands? Compared to whom?

Gentlemen and ladies, it’s about quality of time here, not quantity.
I was thinking if part of the bolster is supposed to go a little into the grip… and it was a few degrees off… the thicker part of the bolster just split it.Would be good to understand how the dealer goes about this job, if anything, just to learn how he does it.
My first thought was maybe the replacement shaft was a little larger in diameter, but he forced in in any way.
Wow. I don’t think most people have the time to read every single thread when we have a question. That would take years.By the way, Cgarage the search function on this forum is a total joke. I have found the best way to search for your topic is to read through every single thread until you find what you are looking for.
I think it works great. XF is much better than vB was. It is a welcome change. Maybe broaden your search criteria?By the way, Cgarage the search function on this forum is a total joke. OP: Your thread title is an utter failure. It makes absolutely no sense.
If you must complain about topic titles, Practical Machinist Forum is the place to go and be with your own kind.
The thread title seems to only have bothered you, and you’re the one digging your heels in over an apparent non issue. And this is the sort of polite behavior that Ryan endorses amongst members?
My post above stands and I have no remorse or sympathy over requesting that folks post coherently and author threads with accurate titles.
Thank you.I think it works great. XF is much better than vB was. It is a welcome change. Maybe broaden your search criteria?
site:garagejournal.com is always an option too.

This isn’t authoring scientific papers for peer review. This isn’t literature. It’s a causal discussion forum. It doesn’t need to be anything specific to start a discussion. We’re not looking to make an indexable encyclopedia here.
Picking fights with management over semantics is a great way to get a thread locked or a trip to banned camp in my experience.

@Ton ton was making a joke with sarcasm. I thought it was hilarious.Wow. I don’t think most people have the time to read every single thread when we have a question. That would take years.
I just use Google and keyword garage journal. Works good enough for me…
Said in his best Elvis voice.Thank you very much.
I've just been through my older instinct drivers. All of mine that are Phillips are #1 and orange. Not the best shot but lemme know if it’s legible. Haven’t started looking for a replacement, but if you have access to one, I’ll gladly pay you for it.
