Snap-on toolbox design study

I just ordered a Snap-On KRL722A toolbox, see this thread: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24774

It's seems to be a test/design analysis on the construction of the KRL toolbox, carried out by a school of mechanical engineering, with support from Snap-On.

Thought someone on here might find it interesting.

Actually, it looks like some type of junior or senior level engineering design course, where students gain some independent and hands-on experience.

What I suspect is that Snap-On issued a grant to sponsor or support that course, and was looking for a) cheap brainstorming, b) future interns, c) future engineering employees.

It is interesting, though.

It is not uncommon for similar affiliated projects between universities and large nearby companues or government bodies.

This certainly doesn't look like it's a serious research study, though.
