How could you be Union and not support American jobs?

Not that I have to explain myself to you, but since you asked -

I've been on strike for almost a month now, helping to fight one of the biggest and most profitable AMERICAN companies because they wanna ship jobs overseas to the Philippines, freeze the pensions they haven't yet been able to eliminate, stop matching 401k contributaions and increase costs for family's healthcare - all in the same time they have raked in record profits in the billions of dollars without having to pay a dime In federal taxes. I'll loose close to $6,000 in income so far this month, and lost my health coverage "doing my part", AND spent 5 hours TODAY standing out in the rain picketing, and harassing the out of state workers that all happen to speak Spanish. so please take that BS somewhere else cause you think you saved the country by buying a used toolbox, and sell a bunch of 20 year old tools on eBay that do absolutely **** to support jobs here. (cough) you were saying?

Sorry about the strike, man. I've been through that a couple of times before and would only wish it on politicians and dirty business people...

How are they going to ship your job overseas?

I think the main thing is you are for your American job, but the guy that makes toolboxes, you don't want to fund his job. You don't want to pay for his pension. His family. His future. You'll support the Chinese on that front, and save money buying the cheapest box you can.

I would just buy a top chest and/or side boxes, If you like it keep it in my opinion I don't see a reason to buy a new one when you can add on to what you have. Just my thoughts.

Sorry buddy, but I'll never advise somebody to make payments(most people need to) on a TOOLBOX, that is so expensive it promotes the ****** of every customer that walks through the door - because ultimately THEY are the people that wind up paying for those things when they get charged for repairs they never needed. It makes even less sense for most people that aren't professional mechanics.

You're right about one thing, it's NOT MY job that's in danger of going oversea's , it's someone else's, but yes other areas like pensions and healthcare do affect me. Sorry if people giving up their income and health coverage is not enough in your eyes. I will be sure to hang my head in shame for recommending a more affordable toolbox.

When and where are these deals? Online or on the trucks?

Trucks either normal route or rock and roll truck. If there is a snap on convention show thing they get even better deals if they buy more. It's not uncommon to see master boxes 50% off or more I am sure people have seen and then they throw in the extra grand or so rebate if you use their financing, and yes you can just pay it off in a couple weeks over the phone with snap on credit

I had gotten 38% off my EPIQ and 1000 or 1500 rebate (which just means more money off the top) at the time when I bought mine and that was with giving me 75% of the purchase price of my trade in

And my deal wasn't the best I have seen other people quote less than what I paid several times, but not all dealers are created equal some ask retail or almost retail and don't sell many boxes and don't care.

None of this needs to make sense, if he wants a new box and he can afford it then by all means buy the thing. I see a lot of really big nice box's that the techs probably don't really need, so what, it's there money and there business.

I'd keep your current box, then pick up a KRA or a lightly used KRL. You'll be out the same amount of money (or less!), and you'll have a ton of storage.

Thanks for the input. I'll look for a good sale in September.

Just a thought, could you find a used top box or hutch and have it painted snap on cranberry? If you were to find a used one for the right price color wouldn't be a deal breaker.

You are in a situation many of us seen. Keeping your pro tool box for home use or selling/upgrading. It really depends on what you plan to do with your garage. How much side work do you plan to do? Many of us have downgraded to smaller less expensive boxes for home use and used the extra cash for buying other toys.In my opinion, having a $15000 toolbox in my home garage is overkill. I would sell and buy a middle of the line box for home and use the profit for something else. New lift maybe? Just my 2cents.......

He suggested I upgrade to an epiq in some configuration. I'm more interested in a masters series with a hutch and locker.any advice would be appreciated. I'm.only considering snap on by the way.

Go for the Masters series, they are great!! Get both lockers and the hutch!!
