Thanks for a useful list but generally if the back is stamped with the model # the year is usually there too.

In engineering lists I O and Q are typically skipped.

Here’s a page snap from 1938 for some early boxes.

You are partially correct. Snap-on no longer stamps the boxes. They stopped that several decades ago. I believe back in the 1990s. All modern Snap-on boxes for at least the past 25 years are going to have a bar code on a sticker. There is a duplicate sticker on the inside of the box. When they stopped stamping the model and serial numbers into the metal they also stopped putting the date. Decoding the model number is the only way to tell the manufacturer date on any 2000s box.
