I was sick of having a pile of catalogs sitting on the shelf so I bought these cardboard magazine holders. They seem to have done the trick.

I was almost going to toss my old catalogs and literature. Somewhere I have a 1982 Snap On calendar.

Look forward to seeing them!

I was able to pick up a couple of more catalogs to fill some holes in my set.
#200 1993 and #1200 2012

I also updated the list including the 1985 catalog (65th anniversary) which I didn't know about until recently.

Nice find. It's hard to put prices on a lot of these older catalogs. They are so scarce or rare that they don't come up too often. I paid less than that for my 1941 catalog but I've also seen them go for more than that. I would say that's in the price range. Just ask yourself if you'll ever see another 1948 Snap-on catalog for sale?

Well, thanks to Cruzan80's lead I was able to pick up the '48 catalog and price list. The seller didn't want to work with me on price and he listed it on ebay which is where I subsequently bought it (for less). It's in excellent condition.

If you look up “Snap On poster” on that one site there is a guy selling nice little posters from old catalog pages. Picked this up to hang above one of my old chests

I've seen a few guys on ebay that do that - sell single advertisement pages from old magazines. Pretty cool especially if it's something you have a particular interest in.

I’ve bought a few of those too, but this one was a copy from the 1943 catalog blown up to 13X19.;)

The 48 is a good one to have, lots of changes. Blue Point tools started to be changed to Snap on. Also lots of tools were getting new looks an lots of new items, like round head rats.

OobaTooba: I really like the imagery on that poster. The Victory V made with tools is very symbolic of the war effort and afterwards. I can see why you like it. Beautiful!

Good info! I didn't have a chance to thumb through it yet but I love seeing the advancements and progression as you look through the catalogs from year to year.

That’s precisely why I liked it. The war effort theme that was a prevalent part of life then. I don’t have the exact box on the cover but do have (what I believe to be) a 40s K56. The emblem is exactly the same as what’s on my K260 (which is the box I plan to hang this poster behind).
This one if you were curious. Wish I had a couple more of these.

Ooba:

From what I can tell the K55 was the predecessor to your K56 box. The K55 was listed in the 1945 catalog. The 1948 catalog lists a KR56 chest. So if yours is a K56 it's most likely between those two dates ranges. The emblem would be consistent with that time frame. That KR56 would set you back a copious amounts of $39.95 way back in 1948.

I had to update the list for this catalog. I didn't know there was a 1977 until I saw it. So of course I had to buy it.
