Can I get these replaced under warranty if the bits are a little buggered up or do they need to be broken in half?

Talking about these:

I rarely even look at the condition of the bit if a customer hands me one for warranty. I just put a new bit in it and throw the old one in the warranty drawer.

Good to know. Thanks.

If I send these in to Snap On, do I need to send the whole socket?

Add a 2 to the end of the part number for the part number for the bit. For example, the replacement bit for an FTX40E is an FTX40E2.

Yea, I can't image them saying no to a bit if I sent them in. I have a couple from a couple sets that are messed up.

One thing I did notice...these heavy duty ones seem to have a concave (business) end. My older regular ones have a flat end. Any reason for this? I would think with the sharp edges created from this concavity, it would wear quickly.

Are these heavy duty bits supposed to be "more heavy duty" then the regular pieces?

Why would Snap-on manufacture those highly stress drivers from brass? No wonder they have such a high warranty claim rate :lol_hitti

The standard Torx are grey, and Heavy Duty are gold so you easy can see the difference. The gold color will wear off after some use.
