The Husky broke too. They both broke. That's the point. That Husky socket looks like it has the top of the bit is missing.
Something is not right about that socket either.

Work on enough rusty Volvo's and you'll give up on sockets and just buy bits 10 in a bag and use a socket adapter.........................

Wamsutta - If you're using a T27 for air cleaner bolts, it's never going to break. 10 ft/lbs tops on at most an M8 fastener? A torx bit made of Cheddar or another firm cheese might still remove those.
Why don't I ever break any of my Torx sockets? I use a T30 for my air cleaner hold down bolts and a T27 for my STIHL weed eater. I've never broken any of them, but then again, I'm using a standard length ratchet with them; no cheater pipe.
You would need top shelf Snap On T27 bits for the heavy duty air filter service. Don't cheap out on those 8ftlb tools. Buy a wiha T-handle and you'll never look back. Why don't I ever break any of my Torx sockets? I use a T30 for my air cleaner hold down bolts and a T27 for my STIHL weed eater. Operator error.... I can “feel” when something is about to snap. That means STOP NOW, get the torch and try to get it freed up before you have to get out the drill too. Peopele really get a kick out of wasting time making these stupid picture captions/memes.
Question regarding Torx sockets from a DIYer, not a tradesman. I've broken torx sockets before mostly on interior seat belt removal building race cars. That was 20+ year ago. Now with cordless hand tools, one can use an impact wrench to break those loose with an impact Torx socket/bit. Or can you? Are the tips of an impact torx socket up to the task in your experience for things like seat belt or head bolts? Or is it just the lower "socket" part that's impact rated?
Reason I ask is these days I work on Jeeps a lot. And mostly in the Daimler/Chrysler era jeeps. Everything is torx on these things. Wondering if I should invest in a relatively modest (Sunex or similar) torx impact socket set. I have a cheap Chinese chrome set now.
As for the subject of this thread. Snap on stuff inst made of plutonium. I have always likened snap on stuff to buying into the innovativeness and the buying experience. Initial quality, nice looking tools, innovative tool solutions to most every problem, and a no questions asked warranty. Like buying a BMW instead of a Volkswagen. Its slightly more polished, more engineering went into it, there is the "I've arrived" appeal, but at the end of the day is that BMW worth nearly twice as much as the VW? And if you crash both into a brick wall at 50mph, they will both be FUBAR.
I would have a tool box full of snap on if I could justify it. But for a weekend warrior, its just so hard to spend the money for these tools since they are not making money for me. I have 2 Snap on ratchets now. One an old F720 (was my dad's I rebuilt it) and a 1/4 comfort handle/green that I bought new on eBay for $62. And I find, since I am just a DIYer I only use the Snap ons for lighter jobs and not the greasy sh1tstorm jobs. I use my USA Craftsman for that. LOL.
I've got the gold snap on torx socket set...yes it's expensive but made more expensive when you add up all the cheap brand's I bought and broke over the years. IMO these are a buy once cry once tool and if they do break it's warranty.
Regarding the picture, would be nice to have a video of them breaking, the husky snapped the end like every cheap one I've had, the snappy broke under a lot more torque.
