They were the perfect thing for the job, 2 of them removing a shock on an ATV, Jap sucker. It didn't hurt the 3/8 has a long handle and the 19 or 3/4 needed to be 6 point to keep from slipping on a poorly machined nut.
I bought a set 30 yrs ago when I thought I was going to have a golden arm. I am a fan of a lot of cheap tools but a set of the 6 pt in flank drive, up to the 3/4 or so are a good investment in the right time and place.
It wouldn't be the first set I wuld go for if I as without basic tools but I worked on old farm stuff back in the day and they have paid for themselves as problem solvers on occasion.
They have paid for themselves easily in that capacity, today I treat them more like tubing wrenches. Its one in hundreds anymore where the better wrench in some respect was superior.
It made a solution with 2 wrenches I had possible or practical. I could have drilled a hole in some plastic to insert an extension which would have helped some but was only 1/2 the problem anyway. The flange type drive just didn't slip and I didn't have a Cman handy to compare it to but I think it was a factor.
I did put a really good fitting 12 pt on it and it cammed it off.

Horrible writing, implied subjects, stream of consciousness.

As far as I can decode, he used an old 6 point SAE set (socket? wrench?) to remove some obviously Metric fasteners, and he's proud of that.

I would suggest lowering the dosage of koolaid.

It really reads as if the OP is drunk, high or perhaps is getting senile.

Nah, that's normal.... when the posts are clear, concise, short, etc. we will start to worry.

Worry when they begin to make sense to you!

He ain't drunk or drinking Snap On Koolaid. If you read his other posts he generally states that often cheap tools work just as well as expensive tools in most situations.

And his grammar isn't nearly as bad as some of the posts I have seen on other forums.

Sberry - glad you got it done.:rocker:

There was this thing I did once and it was good but not good enough so I did it again and tried different tools to try and get it done but I couldn't improve on it again so I went and tried something new and what do you know it worked great day for me. So I bought some new widgets to replace the Chinese widgets and they seemed of better wifpdget quality so I just retired the old widgets or maybe I'll give them to charity who knows but then again maybe I should just keep them I guess I'll decide on that later but for now im happy with what I have.maybe I should order a pizza but should it be pepperoni or cheese because if it's the same price I should probably get the pepperoni because it gives you more for your money but I don't know what's in the pepperoni so maybe I should just stick with cheese. Yea that's what's going to happen.

That is a perfectly normal post for our good buddy Sberry....

It's taken me 6 years, but I now understand his posts... and if you have an Enigma
machine, you will see that he speaks from vast experience and a sensible head.

He always suggests the rght tool for the job, and these days allot of non truck
tools are very good quality, a 3rd of the price and will work for a long time with
no issues, and most times that is what he will rcommened to people...

But once in a while, that extra 10% of quality for 300% extra money is absolutely
worth it, when nothing else will get the job done.

Good on you Sberry... Glad to hear you got it done...

Give the guy a break, we're all not created to be exactly alike or express ourselves the same way. He obviously has a lot of experience, so just learn to take what he says at face value.
