Energy Charge ...1335.000 kWh @ $ 0.0789000 / kWh ... $ 105.33 *

Administration Charge... $ 4.50*

Delivery Charges - ENMAX

Distribution Charge... $ 19.26*

Transmission Charge ...$ 25.98 *

Rate Riders ... $ 0.02* CR

Local Access Fee ...$ 16.33 *

Summary...$ 171.48

Add the GST of 5% and you have a grand total of $179.95

I have no idea what half of those charges are either.

So for 1335 kWh, that works out to be $0.1348/kWh.

Here in Quebec we're billed every two months and I also heat with electricity, so don't be shocked at the consumption. 5,610 kwh for a total of $466.25 including taxes which works out to 8.3 cents/kwh

Well I am very shocked at how low that bill is with electric heat. If that is for two months. I would trade you. Here's my bill for the month of nov. $533.28 for 6252 kwh. And its not even cold yet.

Lots of "Eastern Canada". . .no one out here gets anything from the St. Lawrence. . .

Most electricity here in Alberta is coming from burnt coal and a bit of hydro.

Heh. I thought exactly that.

I grew up in the interior of BC, and all our electricity came from hydroelectric generation along the Kootenay and Columbia rivers.

Alrighty then. . . I did the math. . .

Base rate - $0.08/kWh

After all the charges, taxes, etc my last bill was $148.10 for 898kWh. . .

That makes my grand total $0.165/kWh. . . So my cost doubles. Damn.

Ok guys. . . lets make this even. Go find your last bill. Divide the total you had to pay by the kWh you used. That's the only way this thread means anything!

My nominal rates are similar.

6 weeks between meter readings. I'm on a floating rate, adjusted monthly.

Nov 2-30: 1172.340kWh @ .0779800/kWh
Dec 1-17 694.973kWh @ .0876200/kWh

Admin Charge
Delivery Charges (which is made up of the Distribution Charge, Transmission Charge, and Balancing Pool Allocation- which on this bill is a credit)
Local Access Fee
...and GST, which is included in all rates.

$237.09, including GST, which works out to about .127/kWh, average, over 6 weeks.
