Roaches, eww. I had one friend in school who's dad built him his own 24th apartment in their backyard and that dude had a 10' python, couple boas, dozens of different spiders and beetles and bred the large hissing roaches. I was cool with everything BUT the roaches! [emoji38]

Nines -

I wonder if that was my old python. When I was at LSU, I worked at Noah's Pets just off campus and I had lots of critters at home. Had an 11' Burmese python that I sold in 1993 or so. Used to feed it a few bunnies every month...

I didn't move to BR until y2k, small town before then. He fed his rabbits too, one day the rabbit froze in fright, my buddy reached in the cage to bump it and the snake bit him on his hand and wrapped around his arm, working torwards his neck . His gf couldn't get it off, she had to run get his dad from the house to come save him.

Do you have a spot picked out for the 1000 popsicle sticks? :eyecrazy:

I have to admit I have no location for them yet. I figured it would be a lifetime supply. I still have not been to the shop yet. Looks like I won't be there until next week at this point. Probably Tuesday, so no updates for a while.

Don, every time I need to mix epoxy or something small I have been using Qtips, they don't work so well. I am hoping that these will work better. They may even be too big.

I use plastic plant labels like the ones below. You can use the small end for tight spots or the big end for larger areas and best of all, once the epoxy hardens, you flex the plastic and it comes right off to use again like new. I can use one stick several times before tossing.

I am hiding in plain sight.

Nines, I like that idea, are those fairly stiff? The ones that I think of are too flexible for my liking. I will have to check out the garden section next time I am at the store.

LS, the frog was never named, I was talking to Rich, but that would have been a good name. He was a woods frog, I guess we called it Froggy. I would like to get a nice setup with some poison dart frogs, they are gorgeous. The saltwater tanks are very expensive to start and keep going, I am not ready for one yet, but maybe in the future.

I once had a volvo 850 turbo. 5 cylinder. I loved that little car. Black on black leather. Quickest little sedan I've ever driven for the price. I'm in TX, some guy from north carolina flew out to buy it and drove it back.

They're fairly stiff Strouty, they are roughly the size of a popsicle stick too and sold everywhere from Walmart to home improvement stores like Lowe's and Home Depot plus any garden supply stores of course. Easily trimmed to custom shapes too, I have rounded the large end to wipe excess caulking from corners of windows and things. I got 100 for about $10 a decade or so ago and still have enough to last another decade or so.

Sorry Rich, I have been working off site cutting trees. I am actually here today for a couple hours, the GF's car needs a new headlight bulb, so she is headed over after work.

The stockroom is waiting for another reconfiguration, I ended up ordering a steel pegboard section, I need to bolt it into the shelving, then I can add hangers for the hose clamps. Remember when I junked those pegboard hooks? Luckily they were just in the five gallon bucket, so I am going to dig those out. I may have to order more of the pegboard, I think I may like it. I will be here this weekend and I will update after I get some things accomplished.

The cabinets have stuff in them, but nothing permanent, I am still feeling things out. Unfortunately I have not been in the shop much at all in the last few months. I have a few projects that I am overseeing and a bunch of paperwork that needs to be done, hopefully I can get some more time in there during February. I am in the office for a while today, then I need to go out and lift the conex, it sank in the mud a bit and the ground in front of the door heaved, so now I can only open the door a little bit. I also want to fix the door latch on it, it is hitting in a funny spot and needs to be adjusted up so I can close the door better. It is a really nice day and I am looking forward to a few hours outside.

After that I may try and rearrange things so I can organize the hose clamps in the stockroom. Not a big priority, but I would like to move forward a little, the project has been stalled for a while now.

I agree. I will take some pictures before I start and then at least I have a bit of a reference point. I am headed outside to adjust the conex and fix the door.

My wife told me today was honey do day. But not too bad, she only had 3 things on her list.
Repair the toilet in the guest bathroom (3 bathrooms for just the 2 of us)
Replace a 10 piece of gutter that came down this winter.
Replace weather striping on front and back door.

Done with the toilet, replaced fill valve. 30min.
next the gutter, should take longer to get the ladder out and set up then fix the gutter.

Hope all goes well, careful on the ladder.

I lifted up the conex and put some blocking under the front, now the doors will open fully. I looked at the latches and found that I installed two parts backwards, so I need to swap them. Doing that should allow them to easily latch and seal the door better.

I got a bit motivated and carried away after that, I started all he trucks and equipment and shuffled things around, I also moved the suburban that needs the motor and cleaned off the car trailer. Not sure where I am going to put it yet, but I thought since this week is nice I may try and fix the lights so that if I need it I can at least drag it around without someone running into the trailer because it had no taillights. Headed back out while there is still daylight, I will post more pictures when I get a chance.

Damn, it must be nice to have all the equipment to be able to move and lift stuff.
Must be kind of like I feel about my bucket on my tractor, Don't know how I got stuff done before I got it.

Having the right equipment is great, although I am still not sure if I have the "right" equipment, but I seem to make it work.

I am about spent, and I did not do any inside work other than the paperwork. Well, I take that back, I did move three buckets of rope and a few volvo parts out back, so I did a little inside. I may try and cover the roof tomorrow, kind of depends on if it is windy or not. Anyways here are the pics of the day:

Thats the easy way to lift them Strouty. I have a couple of 5 ton toe jacks that do a pretty good job lifting the container to level or to put rollers under it so I can move it around with the excavator. I took the latches off the left hand goor and use just one latch on the right hand door to close and lock it.

I did the same, but the seal is so tight that I need to install one on the other door so I can open the damn thing without a pry bar. It had the latches set for truck height and they are too low for my back, so I attempted to move them up and weld them higher, it really didn't work out well, so I have to do it again.

Is a toe jack the same as a railroad jack? I'd like to find a couple...

Strouty, the yard looks pretty tidy out there, your excavator work paid off.

Strouty -

What's the story on the Suburban? Is it a '98 or so? K2500 4x4? Big block or small block? What are you going to do with it?

I had a '97 K2500 with a 454, an '87 K1500 4x4 with a 350, and a 99 Yukon 4x4 with a 350. Will be looking for another older K2500 when I get back to the states.

I'm almost sure that it has the 6.5 diesel.

I have three. Two are 99 and one is 97. All 6.5 diesels.

Someday I will do a duramax swap, but it will be with a totally rust free truck. I have a soft spot for the 6.5 diesels.
