What are you guys doing with this space? I am wanting to put down VCT and want to go up on the side of the concrete but that leaves me with a gap between the concrete and the drywall.

If you expect that your floor will ever get wet from bad weather or an occasional hosedown, you should leave a substantial gap between the drywall and the floor to keep the bottom edge of the drywall from absorbing water. Cover the gap with waterproof baseboard.

Agree with other posters - go to a flooring store and get flexible, rubber baseboard and glue it to the wall. It's shaped with a berm at the bottom, to deflect water that hits the wall. I just installed 44 feet, and with glue and the baseboard it came out to about a buck a foot. They will have different colors to choose from too. The flooring store will also have the glue, which will cost about 4 for a caulking tube, which covers about 18 linear feet of the baseboard material.

Oh, and here's a tip -- DON'T duct tape the baseboard to the wall after glueing to hold it tightly in place at the top -- the duct tape WILL remove the sheetrock paper. Um... I have a "friend" that did that recently, ha ha.

I used 5/8" by 5 1/4" PVC trim. Never gonna rot

Exactly. Go to hd, get the PVC white trim. 3/4 by 3.5, 12' lengths, slightly over $20, but it will never need any maintenance. Ever.
