Spalted beech live edge table

I am working on this table in between commission jobs, I have a few boards of spalted beech I milled a few years ago this design popped in my head over the weekend.

The mortise and tenon I cut on the cnc router.

Hope to get it finished by next week in between the other work.

Its a simple chainsaw mill I can mill logs in remote spots and load my truck plank by plank.

Its good for specialty milling. A high HP saw and milling chain ground to 10 degrees or less and its quick work.

That came from a area around a branch knot the grain wraps around where the branch comes out of the tree.

Are those wedged tenons?
I would be careful there as they are running with the grain. Most of the time I (and others) put them cross grain to avoud splitting the top.

Most of the time I do too, this design did not have room for that You just don't use a sledge hammer to put them in and its fine.

I kiln dry my wood after milling down to 8-9 percent moisture, whatever twisting and warping will happen while drying. A lot of twisted wood is from drying to fast or not sealing the ends before going into the kiln.

I flatten the boards by either surfacing on the CNC router or using my planer with a sled with shims to hold the stock as it goes through.

I could tell its a Stihl, but which model? 440,460,660? What length of bar are you running

Its a 660 with a 32 inch bar in the picture I run different bars depending on log width.

Its in an art gallery for the next month as a pedestal for a chainsaw carving I did back in 2007 when I started carving. any Luck they will both sell though galleries usually just get me exposure.
