Special inline spark tester needed

Hey ya'll,

One of my motorcycles takes a spark plug without a terminal cap (the little screw on thing on the tip). So all the inline spark testers I find, won't fit that spark plug.

If that wasn't difficult enough...the plug drops almost 6" down the top of the engine, so I need something that's static (and in, not flexible) where I can press it down onto the spark plug.

Now, obviously I can do some work arounds to check spark, but I think my CDI unit is shot, so I really want to watch spark while cranking.

So anyone know of some type of inline spark tester that could work in this situation? If not, I'll just make one.

An inductive timing light would do it, but it wouldn't tell you the condition of the spark just whether there is one or not.

Go buy a new plug for it from a parts store to keep as a spare. Should come with that screw on adapter. Then you can use whatever you want

See if you can get a boot off a 04-05 5.7 hemi coil pack. That'll get you the 6" extension you're looking for and just use a cut bolt for the connection between it and a normal spark tester. The other side I'd do the same thing. Rig up a cut bolt to make the connections and tape it.

I suspect that's how I'll end up doing things. Thanks.
