So we decided we really needed a two post lift. The ceiling inside the building is only 10', so choices are limited (max jack etc..) but I didn't want to be crouching down under the cars. We decided to go with a full height lift and install it on the back 60x60 slab.

I currently have a Whip (made in Dallas) 10K asymmetrical two post and its great! It was pricey though! We decided to go with a cheaper Chinese made one for now since its temporary. We are planning a new building back there eventually and it will be moved. I found one on best buy auto equipment for a very reasonable price. I upgraded the pump and motor to a US made one.

The lift was delivered on schedule and I had a friend who use to install them come help me. He has a crane that they made specifically to install two post lifts (his dad owned an auto equipment supply).

Installation was pretty straight forward, helps when you have someone who knows what they are doing!

We decided to use the lift the next day and we had a serious problem, one of the main hydraulic cylinders was pushing fluid out of its vent hole. We called the supplier and they sent us a new one, took a week to get to us, so the lift was useless during that time. Installation of the new cylinder was the biggest paint in the but! There was a pin that had to go through a chain and the cylinder, and it was about impossible to get your hands in there.

When we planned to put the two post in the back, we also decided that we needed some shelter back there. We searched around and purchased a pre-fab metal roof structure. The best thing was that installation was included in the price! It was nice to sit around for once and watch someone else do the work!

This guy was absolutely nuts! He shimmied up the metal pole up there and was walking around back and forth on top of the 22g metal.

The structure is 36'x20', it just about doubled the size of the shop area.

Ill check the paperwork but I believe it was rated to 120mph.

Not planning on it for now. With the white walls and 6 8' florescence lights it pretty well lit up.

Decided to do some work on the original shop. I have been wanting to build some cabinets for a long time. The original shop has been neglected, as all the work has been at the new shop lately. The place is a mess and needs a serious cleaning, I just have nowhere to store anything.

My brother used to be a cabinet maker. He is a super on commercial buildings now and he had nothing scheduled this past week, so he came down so we could build some cabinets.

This pic is of the back wall of the shop where the cabinets will go.

We decided to build the cabinets out 3/4" cabinet grade plywood. This is the first which is an upright 8' tall.

Now I have to paint the cabinets and clean up.

Trying to decide on paint. Planning on using Behr paint and primer in one.

Taping everything up as I plan on using an airless sprayer.

Decided on Grenadine (reddish orange), came out nice but there was a little more over spray then I planned for.

Now I have to repaint the white walls, it needed it anyway though.
