So quick back story before I get into it....
I have a four year old son that is non verbal autistic that has a serious interest in Legos, magna tiles, coloring, and marvel action figures. Being that he can not communicate we are constantly trying to find different ways to interact and bond with him so I took on this project in an effort to get him more interested in the shop. He loves to help his mom in the kitchen so I get a little jealous!
Here it is... Spiderman vs Venom..... shop stool..
Don't clown me to hard since I am not the most creative nor do I have fancy fab tools. I built this using only an angle grinder, chop saw, 110v Lincoln mp140 welder (I am a mechanic so thats the extent of my metal fab tools).
I started by making a hexagon out of 1/2" square tube. I cut out a 60* slice and bent the tube in every corner. As for the wheels they are 4" casters from HF. The wheels are screwed into a 1/2x20 nut i pressed into that round tube and welded in place.
Next I created the middle section. The upright piece is 1 1/4 square tube 14ga and the pieces going out are 1" 11ga. This was a struggle to get everything to line up since I don't have accurate cutting tools. The pull pin i got off Amazon for an exercise bike.
Next I started welding the beginning of my spider webs. I bent the 1/4 solid tube on standard weights I had laying around. Getting everything bent accurately and aligned was a real pain!
The seat i cut from 3/4 ply wood scrap I had in my shop using my router.
Still to come..
I ordered caps for the round tube so it looks complete
Upholstery on the seat with the Venom logo. I already spoke to an embroidery shop and they are going to sew this on it

And paint!
I am not a professional metal fabricator so please don't judge me as such!
