spiked shoes

Hey all,

New to the garage journal.
After reading everything I could, I have jumped into the deep end and ordered my epoxy flooring. I have 2 questions:
1. Anyone have suggestions as to where to get spiked shoes? I really can't see spending $50.00 from the epoxy suppliers.
2. I plan on grinding my floor with a rental single disc EDCO grinder. They have recommended DYMA CERTS (Diamaserts?) to do this. Has anyone had experience with these? Is this the same as diamond grinding?

I had an old pair of sneakers. Placed on plywood and traced the outline, then used a jigsaw to cut them out. Used nail gun to shoot nails through the wood then placed shoe over the cutout and shot some more nails through the sole of the shoe. I could feel a few of the nails though the soles getting pushed back into my feet but for the small area I'm working on they worked fine....and they were basically free since I had scrap plywood laying around and plenty of nails.

Go to Goodwill or some 2nd hand clothing stores and look for golf shoes.

I think I'd rather just drive the nails directly through my feet than even touch a shoe from Goodwill!

LOL... Same thought I just had and put on another post....

I've bought from GW before... Just use a good disinfectant... Heck if you walk barefoot across the street you'll pick up more bacteria and crud than you would from a pair of old shoes...

not my shoes - that is why I throw them away -

$12 is not too much for a pair of the spiked aerators.
