Greetings,
I'm hoping someone can tell me why my spindle pulley is different than the pics and explanation I find here:
Well, apparently I can't post links. It's from FrankLee's helpful post entitled "The Classic Craftsman 100/150 Drill Press" and then down to "Spindle Pulley Assembly".
My machine is a 103.0305 - it says so on the plate on the base. I have the quill apart and find that the bearings there are Hoover 7202-10 instead of the 6202 I was expecting based on some reading here. This might matter to my spindle pulley problem.
The link above shows how to remove the spindle pulley, some retaining screws in the sides of the casting and a snap ring underneath that we are not to remove. Here's the question ... mine is entirely different. No retaining screws, no snap rings. Pics attached.
It looks like there are threads underneath the pulley but it's some kind of a coil spring.
What might be relevant is that the casting number on the head casting is 103-11407, while the PDF of the manual says it's supposed to be 11410.
So, hopefully that's coherent and the pics are the ones I meant to attach. I can do whatever other pics anyone would like to see.
Thanks for any help.
