Asking price is $1,000. Seems kind of high to me but all the ones on eBay are listed for more than that.Cost is a factor that must come into play. What price range is it going for?
I’m going to look at it Friday and figure out if it’s single or 3 but I can run either at my shop. Good point on the leaking seal. That's a big heavy duty machine. Concerns are typically the spindles as sometimes they are hard to source, and table inserts. That one looks like it might have a leaking seal. Is it 3 phase or single?
Ya I’m the same way. I love quality solid made old stuff. I have a lathe and a mill so I feel pretty confident I could make some replacement parts if I needed to.That does seem a bit high, even by Alaskan standards. I am unfamiliar with the manufacturer, but have a great appreciation for older well-made equipment. Is there any issue sourcing sanding tubes? Having a mill and lathe can make it easier pulling the trigger on such a piece of equipment.
Would $500 or $600 be a fair price or is this something I should be able to find for a couple hundred? As a patternmaker I have used that brand / type of spindle sander for many years. Very good machine. Useful but it's one of those unnecessary items. I have always wanted one. As others have mentioned verifying all the spindles, rubber sleaves and throatplates are there is important. I would want to verify 3 phase / single phase. At $1,000 I'd pass.
I would say $500 or $600 would be fair. I compiled an average from OWWM ten machines asking price averaged $919. A couple of single phase higher. A couple were all complete with fresh restoration. Square table is also a bit more desirable. Good luck!Would $500 or $600 be a fair price or is this something I should be able to find for a couple hundred?
