^ correct. the older Vaco models are the ones with the color-coded handles. do a search on Ebay and you'll see what I mean.
(now and then somebody will list one or two of them way cheap.)

Yeah, the long VACO's are on eBay. I did not know you can replace the shafts on them.

A couple spinner handles and adapters for hex drivers.

Adapter to use pass-through (hex or gearwrench) with a 1/4" driver and a regular pass-through handle.

I am tempted to try to make a 3/8" pass through handle... I had a couple potentiometers that didn't fit in the 1/4" pass through and were difficult with a wrench.

I really like mine. I use the black HH snapon ones in 1/4" and 3/8" drive the most. I have a few more, some blue points and a proto that I like as well.

I like spinner handles!

I could not help but mention the Craftsman Deal of the Day earlier today. They had a 15" Craftsman adjustable wrench on sale for over 50% off! Yep, it was just over $20 buckaroos! The price went way up the last time I checked on it.

Would the wera Zyklops fall into this category? I do use them for this purpose.

Here are my snappy 1/4 versions and they are the only ones I use plus the wera. The pass through for use as an extension is the only way to go, I use them with both hands to speed up putting things together or taking things apart. If they don't have the pass though I don't see the point.

I have 2 3/8's that I never use next to the palm ratchet I never use.

Here In the top I have a crafty and plomb, but don't use them. The crafty does not have the pass through and I don't want to break the plomb due to age.

You are correct, sir -- up under the dash is where these tools rule. Changed out a blower motor under the dash of a GMC Colorado last week, and nothing but a nut spinner (or whatever these things are called) would work. One thing to make it even "gooder": get a flexible extension like I did, or get a nut spinner that has a flexible shaft. A company called "Jawco" has both on Ebay, made in USA, and I know that Koken makes a wicked nut spinner and flex extension.

Thanks Jeremy!

I wish the companies we buy tools from could provid the same service as the GJ members!!!

yes I use the spinners in my 1/4" socket sets (3) quite often but mostly when I need more than 1/4, 5/16, or 3/8 nut drivers hanging in the garage.
Infact I think any 1/4 socket set that comes without one is a huge Fail.

The Vaco line is still made and sold by Klein, but they did change the handles from a molded to an extrusion process.

I use nut drivers daily but rarely reach for a spinner handle. I often need the hollow reach of nut drivers on threaded rod and long bolts.

I have a 1/4"-drive similar to those Craftsman pictured above, but it doesn't have the drive socket in the top. I just used it this weekend to tighten a bunch of wire rope clips. I actually use it quite frequently and would certainly buy another if something happened to the one I have.
