Anybody have a ballpark of what a shop might charge to do the required laser cutting?
There is a laser person / shop in just about every town now. Wheeler is right about Maker Spaces, DIY labs, etc.. they will often have a few people willing to cut things at a good rate.
I for example charge anywhere from $1-3/min for laser jobs (24x18 bed w/60w laser), but file prep, materials, etc.. all come into play as well. Something like that file cut in 1/8" is probably 30-45 mins? There are better options imo...
1/8" or 1/4" baltic birch is likely the best suited material for the laser, but w someone mentioning that
WOOD is prone to
SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION perhaps acrylic is a better choice, but more money.
