I want to have the ceiling of my 40x40 shop sprayed with closed cell. What should I expect cost wise?

A dollar per square foot per 1" thick.

Example 40x40 is 1600sqft. As priced above it would be 4800 for 3 inches thick.

Honestly I think it makes more sense to do spray in on the walls were there is less space to get insulation in and blow in in the ceiling.

Pole barn, there isn’t anywhere up there to blow in. I want to stud my walls for osb before I spray them.

I got a quote to do between the floor joists on my kitchen addition which was built on an existing concrete pad attached to the house. It wound up being like $1200 for 120 sq. feet. Which works out to about $2.50 per sq. ft per inch (4" thick). May depend on your location, and different contractors will vary a little.

Closed cell is pretty expensive. My large home with open cell was $10k. My guess is that your going to be about that number.

Had a pro price out my entire garage, 24 x 36, 13' overall wall height, 9/12 roof pitch. Was $8000. I did most of the job with recycled polyiso board and DIY foamed the surface for about a buck a board foot.

Kota - Geo location ????

Under roof deck/ gable ends use OC... approx 40% cheaper per R than CC ... 4" thick is around $1.30 - $1.60 / sq ft

Same OC material in walls you will be covering.

The cost of the equipment has to be factored into the job -- small job is going to be a bit more. Same with location -- my area has many closed cell guys -- so, it's actually cheaper for some jobs vs a few years ago. When I did an addition a few years back -- was expecting a higher price .... my guy was able to link it with another small 1/2 day job.

Need to make sure it full weight and thickness -- factoring a $1 will get you in the ballpark

I do 4" on new ...often with renovations that's not possible as the walls are 2x4's. It's so superior IMO -- I don't even think of other possibilities

Closed cell for a 30x40 with 15 foot ceiling at the wall edge with 2 inch on the walls and 3 on ceiling was close to 10k. Cash discount.

Texas, 40x60x16 - About $5k for 3" of foam, average... Open cell.

It looks like the installers bring this in a "drum" - for me, they probably did a little better than 3" and used the whole drum.

Both are blended products

Should have noted close cell.

They also came in a drum here.
