You could get a more complete set of Taiwanese ratchet wrenches for similar money.

Look at Tekton or Gearwrench.

I would love the Proto wrenches but they would cost an arm and a leg to get to the U.K. and believe me I’ve looked into it.

Not as good as stahlwille combo spanners.

Hard to beat the facom ratchet spanners for design/quality to price .

Thanks for the replies.
I agree that the Facoms are really good. I have several sets in different places including in an outside tractor toolbox that regularly are covered in moisture and soil and have never had a problem with any, and they are great value.
Only had 1 Hazet 13 mm and that only lasted a few months. It might have been a one off bad experience but it’s put me off.
I’ve used the Snap On which are typically great, but in a tool box regularly used by all and sundry they are too pricey.
I’ll take a look at the GearWrench but for no particular reason I would like to go US or German.
The Protos are the ones I would really like but by the time you get them to the UK you are up to Snap On price.

I think gedore 7ur are the only reversible made in Germany. They are not cheap though and get some poor reviews on amazon. :(

Gearwrench is china/taiwan .
Is a shame the Stahlwille taiwan made and not to same quality would expect .
For UK and potential deal prices it hard beat Facom, they made by rotar group for facom .
Pretty much all the German top brand ones are taiwan made due to patent rights .
If you got a buddy in US get them ship something over perhaps .

Mr.Lemons it’s a pity the Gedores have poor reviews because I have some great tools from them.

Mr.B. My uncle has brought me some stuff from the US but the best deals seem to be from the likes of Zoro when they have discount codes, but they won’t accept foreign payments unfortunately

Dobbin, if you need help getting a set of protos from Zoro, send me a PM. I can’t help with the customs fees you would have to pay, but if you’re dead set on US or Germany, you’re stuck I think.

I have and use the Gedore 7 R (non reversible) at work without issue. The satin finish is nice (not slippery when hands are greasy). And the ratcheting gets smoother with use. COO of Germany too I believe.

See if you can find a deal on the Facom 467's. You won't regret it. I got mine on Amazon.de. It's a win for those of us in the US as we can avoid the VAT.

They are made in Taiwan.

There is a 467a and 467b version, the "b" is current production and has the ASD feature on the open end. I have the "a" version and am happy with them.
